Yorkview’s 1st Annual Christmas Garden Display! 🎄

Last week, the Yorkview Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation team came together to create a truly magical evening filled with festive lights, cheerful inflatables, and the wonder of Christmas. Our staff proudly transformed our grounds into a holiday garden and walked our residents through the display, sharing smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments of Christmas magic.

This week—and throughout the rest of the Christmas season—we warmly invite our residents and their families to stroll through the Christmas Garden Display together. Take time to slow down, make memories, and experience the joy of the season once again by seeing the glow of the Christmas lights reflected on your loved one’s face.
Also, a special thank to our preferred hospice provider, “MorningStar Hospice” for your help with our event and providing the delicious cupcakes! 🧁

From all of us at Yorkview, thank you for allowing us to share the magic of Christmas with your families. ❤️✨

Today Briggs and I did our Therapy Dog visits to many at Yorkview Nursing and Rehabilitation and to youth at a shelter/ detention center. People sure smile a lot when they see us! Briggs and I are proud of Stratton too as he works hard as a SAR and Criminal Investigation K9.
Consider donating to us tomorrow to assure we can continue serving!

🎃🕸️ Happy Halloween from Yorkview Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation! 👻🕷️

Today our halls were filled with spooky fun and festive spirit as our staff and residents celebrated Halloween with our annual Costume Contest! From creative costumes to lots of laughter, everyone had a frightfully good time!

We’re excited to announce that this year’s winner was none other than our Director of Social Services — “the witch!” 🪄🖤 Her spellbinding costume and Halloween spirit truly cast a charm on everyone!

🧛‍♀️ Fun Halloween Facts:
🎃 Halloween originated from the ancient Celtic festival Samhain, marking the end of harvest season.
🍬 Americans spend over $3 billion on Halloween candy each year!
👻 The tradition of dressing up in costumes started as a way to ward off spirits.
🕯️ The first Jack-O’-Lanterns were made from turnips, not pumpkins!

We’re so proud of our Yorkview team for making this Halloween one to remember — full of fun, friendship, and festive cheer! 🧡

🎃🍬 Happy National Candy Corn Day! 🍬🎃

Here at Yorkview Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, we’re celebrating one of the most iconic Halloween treats — Candy Corn!

Did you know…
🌽 Candy corn was invented in the 1880s by George Renninger of the Wunderlee Candy Company.
🍯 It was originally called “Chicken Feed” because corn was mainly used for livestock back then.
🍬 Each piece has three colors — yellow, orange, and white — to resemble a kernel of corn.
😲 And here’s a fun fact: if you stack candy corn pieces in a circle, they actually form the shape of a corn cob! How cool is that?

Now we’ve got to know…
👉 Are you Team Candy Corn 😍 or No Candy Corn for Me 🙅‍♀️?
