York Adaptive Recreation We would like to provide a space for people with disabilities and their families to learn about adaptive opportunities in the York area.

Currently we are working to bring Sled Hockey to the area. We welcome others to share their experiences!

Meet us at the The York Ice Arena, $15 paid to York Ice at the door pays for ice time. Arrive 30 minutes early.

Today was awesome.

We had so many people show up for sled hockey that we used every piece of gear we had.

People were jumping in to help get others on the ice, figuring things out together…

The best part — brothers, friends, all abilities playing side by side like it’s no big deal. Because here, it isn’t.

If you’ve ever watched what we’re building with the Vikings and thought “this is really cool” — this is where you can help.

We need more sleds, sticks, helmets… more everything.

Join us this weekend at York Ice Arena for Open Sled Hockey. Whether you have a physical disability or you’re an able-bodied player wanting to experience the game from a new perspective, our doors are open.

Check out this great adaptive climbing event by Accessibility Unlimited:

Climb for a Cause

Saturday, March 28th at 1 PM for a day of climbing and community designed for all skill levels and abilities.

Equipment for adaptive athletes will be available. Funds raised support scholarships for students to help make prostheses for people in developing countries.

WHEN: Saturday, March 28th at 1 PM

WHERE: Philadelphia Rock Gym in Wyncote, PA

HOW MUCH: $24/climber

AccessAbility UnLimbited exists to provide support and assistance to adaptive individuals who use orthoses and prostheses. We are planning different events to live out our mission, and we would love for you to join us!
