TLC takes a holistic approach in providing encouragement, person-centered support, and growth opportunities to the individuals we serve.

Typical Life Corporation (TLC) is a private, not for profit, charitable organization that was incorporated in 1999. The agency was founded on progressive and innovative techniques in order to improve the quality of services offered to individuals who have a disability. Although disabled, the individuals served by TLC have the same rights, responsibilities, and opportunities to be active members of society. TLC provides support to individuals from York and Adams Counties who are diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. Support is provided via licensed group homes, semi-independent living apartments, in-home support services, adult training programs, outpatient programs, faith-based programs, and vocational services. TLC's purpose is to provide supports to assist individuals with disabilities to live a normal life in the community. TLC helps individuals become active members of their community.

TLC knows how to get in the holiday spirit. Individuals in our Gettysburg Day Program visited Transitions Healthcare to spread some holiday cheer. And if you think Santa looks like our very own Jeff Henry...sshhhhh.

In York, we had a visit from Santa, where individuals we serve received a special gift. We hope you're all as excited for this time of year as we are!

Our Day Options programs in York and Gettysburg offer individuals with IDD a full day of opportunities — from building communication and social skills to exploring the community, developing vocational abilities, and staying active!

With trained staff by their side, individuals participate in activities matched to their interests, abilities, and goals, making TLC a place where people grow, connect, and thrive together.

We had a full room at art class last week, where individuals we serve got to start making some pretty cool tree ornaments for the holidays! There were many hands-on steps, and we were so excited to see folks have so much fun. 🎄💚

TLC always recognizes a community partner at each Annual Extravaganza. This year, we were excited to show appreciation to Flinchbaugh's Orchard and Farm Market.

Our individuals love visiting the orchard, but now can do so much with much more ease, thanks to Flinchbaugh's making access, such as a way for someone in a wheelchair to take a hayride, a priority.

It's always an honor to recognize our individuals during TLC's Annual Extravaganza. The awards we hand out mean something special -- it's an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments and everyday wins.

It recognizes that TLC individuals aren't just having fun (though we always do!), but that they are working so hard to gain new experiences, grow in their jobs, and find independence.

Last night was our annual TLC Extravaganza and we had so much fun! 🎉

With more participants than ever before, we enjoyed an amazing night filled with love, surrounded by our TLC family of staff, leadership, board members, donors, and the individuals we support and their families.

We are so grateful for another incredible year and for the unwavering support of our community. And this night is always so meaningful to the individuals we serve. 💚
