Happy January! ❄️ Instead of big resolutions that may feel difficult to adhere to, let’s focus on the small wins first!

In ABA therapy, we know that big progress is just a collection of tiny, successful moments. 💫 This month’s featured resource is making a small wins tracker:

🏆 HOW TO USE IT:
1. Pick one simple skill (like putting away one toy, getting out toothbrush and toothpaste, or waving to a familiar face!)

2. Mark a star, sticker, etc. on a chart of your choosing every time your child tries the skill! This allows progress to be visually seen and can make the process more motivating!

3. Celebrate the effort, not the perfection! Provide your child specific praise so they know what they did right!

🎆Make your goal SPECIFIC. If you define one specific goal, you will be more likely to stick with it

🎆Make your goal MEASURABLE. Determine how you can keep track of your goal so you can see your progress

🎆Make your goal ATTAINABLE. Look at your current behavior and design your goal from there

🎆Make your goal RELEVENT. Your goal should be realistic and important to you.

Goal example: I will go to the gym for 30 minutes, 3 times per week, and log my workouts into my notes app
