Her Momma birthed her with such elegance, quiet strength, and determination. Even though the beginning was not as planned Momma was still able to have the unmedicated, 3rd VBAC birth she had prayed for. It was a joy to witness!

Postpartum. This can look like any or all of the following: cooking, cleaning, meal prepping, running errands, laundry, holding babe so Mom can shower or nap, organizing, keeping mom company, entertaining older children so Mom can nap. I find each of these activities as meaningful work. This weekend I had the privilege of playing with big sister H and we had a blast! And mom got a good nap with plenty of baby snuggles. ☺️💜💙

Welcome baby boy “F,” all 9 lbs & 7 oz of you. 💙 Mama is a warrior and birthed him like it was her job. It never ceases to amaze me how in that moment of “I can’t do this anymore,” you mama’s dig deep and find the strength to bring your baby into your arms. 💪🏼

16 years ago today I became an aunt for the first time. 💖 16 years ago today I supported my first momma, who happened to be my sister & one of my bestest friends. 👯‍♀️ 16 years ago I helped support my sister through one of the greatest miracles in this life, and I didn’t even know what a “doula” was. It just came naturally. A gift. For which I am truly grateful. I don’t take the role lightly. Every birth I am a part of I hold near & dear to my heart. ✨

Well, to say that social media is not my strong point is an understatement. 🤪

Here we are…thanksgiving, Christmas, and now a new year. Wow! Some days feel forever and others speed by. As I eagerly await a precious one to be born I want to wish you all God’s best for this new year. Even in the midst of chaos and uncertainties there is good. There is always good. Look up & embrace the blessings around you. You are loved. 🌟

Benefits of skin to skin contact for both baby & mother:

🌟 Regulate baby’s heart rate, breathing & temperature

🌟 Reduces postnatal recovery time

🌟 Encourages initiation of breastfeeding & boosts milk production

🌟 Supports good sleep cycles baby’s brain development

🌟 Combats postnatal anxiety & depression

🌟 Promotes bonding & helps to make baby happier

If mother is unable to do initial skin to skin then dad is the next best option. 💜💙

These are my babies! And I love being their mommy! Each of their birth stories were so incredibly special! No birth is perfect, but because I was educated & I knew what to expect (for the most part) they were exactly the way they were suppose to be. Plus, I had a doula by my side the entire time. 😁 I genuinely look back at that time with a smile on my face. And I want you to feel the same.
