Some thank-yous take a little longer because they matter so much.

For the past five years, Home Instead has generously selected COMPASS Guardianship as the recipient of their annual Be a Santa to a Senior program. Through their gift trees across Mahoning County, they ensure that every one of our wards receives a Christmas gift—many of whom would otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas morning.

This act of kindness means more than words can express. For individuals who are isolated, without family support, or facing significant life challenges, these gifts bring not only joy, but also a powerful reminder that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Home Instead and every community member who took part in this program. Your generosity turned compassion into action and made the holidays brighter for some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Because of you, Christmas meant warmth, dignity, and hope. ❤️

❄️ Snow days can feel magical, cozy mornings, no school runs, and a break from routine. For many kids and adults, they’re a fun pause. But for others, snow days can deepen pain and isolation.

📊 Research shows that about 20 people are abused by an intimate partner every minute in the U.S., and many more experience emotional or psychological harm , risks that can increase when people are stuck at home and isolated from support networks.

🌧️ And winter weather doesn’t just bring cold , it can worsen loneliness and mood struggles. Many people experience changes in their mental health during colder, shorter days, and for those already vulnerable, this can make coping even harder.

If snow days hit you harder than you expected, you are not alone. There is help available 24/7. COMPASS Chat is here to listen, no judgment, just support. Our advocates help you focus on safety, care, and real steps forward, whether you’re a survivor, a concerned loved one, or someone trying to change harmful behavior. ‼️Men’s Clothing Donations Needed

We’re asking for help collecting essential clothing items for men to support individuals visiting the Warming Center. As this program continues to grow, we want to make sure guests have access to warm, comfortable clothing during the colder months.

The Warming Center is a CCA-coordinated program that operates in conjunction with COMPASS under the Service Core umbrella, and we’re encouraged by the positive impact it’s having for those seeking warmth, safety, and support.

✨Most needed items (men’s sizes L–XXL):
Coats
Sweatshirts / Hoodies
T-shirts
Pants
Hats, gloves, socks, and other warm gear

👉 Gently used items are absolutely okay and greatly appreciated.

We celebrate the progress being made at the warming center, a CCA-coordinated program that operates in conjunction with COMPASS under the Service Core umbrella.

Accommodations include cot-style beds with clean linens provided nightly. Water, coffee and a bagged lunch will be provided daily.
