PHP is highly-structured intensive level care consisting of daily group sessions which are currently held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Programming also consists of scheduled individual therapy services as well as family therapy and case management services when needed. Lunch and snacks are provided.

The treatment and support that occur during partial hospitalization offers you a safe place to discuss setbacks, make plans for the future, and heal from past traumas. Therapists and support groups will provide you with practical advice and guidance on your new life ahead.
Partial Hospitalization Programming services are delivered by highly qualified Masters level therapists who are trained in substance abuse, mental health, and trauma (including EMDR).
Valor Recovery Center's programming is trauma informed and evidenced based.
PHP programming includes the ATRIUM (Addiction and Trauma Recovery Integration Model) curriculum. Therapists use interventions from Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Counter Conditioning, Distress-Tolerance and Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Expressive Arts Techniques to assist you in achieving your treatment goals.

Never a show to shy from tough subjects, "Sesame Street" is tackling America's opioid epidemic head on, revealing that Karli, the little green Muppet with yellow hair, was in foster care because her mother suffered from addiction.
Karli will explain on "Sesame Street in Communities" that her mom "was away for a while because she had a grown-up problem."

The "Sesame Street in Communities" project offers supplemental content free to providers, parents and caregivers, designed for kids who are often the unseen victims of addiction.
"How they're impacted by addiction is often something that we don't hear about or, more importantly, don't hear [in] a children's voice or perspective," said Jeanette Betancourt, senior vice president for U.S. social impact at Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind "Sesame Street." - NBC News

Karli, Sesame Street's newest muppet, introduces kids to "for-now families."

Please join me in Congratulating our October Staff Spotlight:

NICOLE THOMPSON!!!

Nicole graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Shortly after that, she received a certificate for Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) and has been working on CEUs ever since. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and go shopping.

Nicole has been a Behavioral Health Technician CDCA with Valor since May 2019 and looks forward to growing with the company.

When asked what her advice for new hires would be, she replied:

" Be very vigilant and open-minded, because there's always something new to learn."

I asked Nicole what is on her Wish List for Valor, she responded:

" In the near future, I wish Valor will be able to provide services to adolescents that struggle with addiction. "

The following nomination was sent in:
"Nicole is a hard worker who always goes above and beyond her Monitor duties- diligently doing rounds around the unit, giving medications, and doing more than her share of the laundry. Nicole pitches in to cover shifts so others can take PTO. She’s always smiling and does all of this on top of running groups and helping our patients in any way that she can. "

🏆CONGRATULATIONS NICOLE! 🏆
WE'RE SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU ON OUR TEAM!
