Yesterday, we celebrated the Mahoning Valley St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This year's theme was "Forever Green: Remembering Our Own," where we honored all the past committee members and supporters of the parade. Remembering our history is what drives us forward. It was especially meaningful to have our own Judy Higgins-Reardon serve as this year's grand marshal, representing and paying tribute to everyone who contributed to making this Valley and parade so special.

A survivor of polio at age 19, Ann faced months of hospitalization, and the dedication of the medical staff inspired her to pursue a career in nursing. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capital University in Columbus, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University in 1962. She went on to teach nursing at The Ohio State University for five years, sharing her knowledge and compassion with future generations of caregivers. Well done Ann. Nia’s life was marked by her profound commitment to the nursing profession and her unwavering love for her family. Graduating from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, Nia dedicated her life to caring for others. Throughout her career, she served with compassion and expertise at St. Elizabeth, Northside Hospital, Sharon Regional Hospital and as Director of Nursing at various assisted living facilities. Her colleagues and patients alike appreciated her dedication and warm approach to healthcare, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered. Nia’s personal life was equally vibrant.
