Our residents become family. When we lose one, we all grieve their loss as a member of our family. Losing Augusta is particularly hard. Victoria House has been her home for 12 years and she was adored by our staff. While we will share her obituary below, there are a few things we wanted to tell you about her. For those who didn’t know, Augusta was a nurse for many years. In August 2025, she was honored with a Living Tribute Ceremony by the Nurse Honor Guard of Eastern Ohio, Delta Xi Chapter, which recognizes individuals who have dedicated their lives to the profession of nursing. A much-deserved honor for someone who gave so much to so many. But, as her family said, being a nurse is what she did, not who she was. She was an extraordinary woman who loved with all her heart. She was a true friend. She was the life of the party here for many years. She was a master crocheter. She loved the Steelers, beagles, and, most of all, her family. Our hearts break for them for the loss of their matriarch. We are all better for having known this sweet, sweet woman, and we thank her family for allowing us to become part of their extended family and giving us the privilege of caring for her. Rest easy sweet lady. We will miss you.
