Happy National Oreo Cookie Day!

Today at The Suites, we celebrated in the sweetest way thanks to our amazing administrator, Jessica, who hosted a fun Oreo tasting with our residents! From classic favorites to some unique flavors, everyone had the chance to try a variety and share their thoughts on which ones were the best.

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and of course plenty of cookies. Activities like this are such a great reminder that the little moments — trying something new, reminiscing about favorite treats, and enjoying time together — make our community so special.

Thank you, Jessica, for making the day extra fun and bringing a little cookie joy to everyon

Join us in congratulating Krista Dunkle (Rouse Care at Home) for being named February’s Light in the Forest!

Her nomination read: “On Sunday, Krista learned that one of our Home Care clients lost heat. She took it upon herself to locate some electric heaters and took them to the client, going above and beyond to make sure that the client had some heat sources and hopefully preventing a hospitalization.”

Thank you, Krista, for your commitment to our clients and all that you do!

We love celebrating the success stories of our residents at The Rouse! 💙 Blanch Swaney, 86 years young, came to us feeling weak after pneumonia and heart failure—but through determination, hard work, and the support of our amazing team, she’s heading home stronger than ever.

“I came here because I was so weak from pneumonia and heart failure. When I first got here, I didn’t feel like myself at all,” Blanch shared. “I came in using a wheelchair, and my goal was to get strong enough to go home and take care of myself.”
With the help of our therapy team, Blanch steadily regained her strength and independence.

“Therapy helped me walk and get stronger,” she said. “I worked my way from a wheelchair to a rolling walker with assist, and now I can get around by myself. I’m going home tomorrow!”

Blanch also shared kind words about the team who cared for her during her stay. “The nursing staff is wonderful. The aides and nurses were very kind and listened to me. My room is clean, and the dietary department worked with me on my special diet. I’m feeling better and stronger every day.”

We are so proud of you, Blanch! Congratulations on your progress—we wish you all the best as you head home!
