Whispering Oaks Lodge is is a residential addiction treatment center for men and women, located in Youngsville, LA

Our LPN's are responsible for providing compassionate care to individuals suffering from addiction and/or mental health issues. This individual will provide direct care to all clients who are detoxing and/or recovering from substance abuse disorders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct nursing and medical screening during the admissions process
• Administer medications, treatments and conducts procedures according to orders from doctors, standard nursing practices and applicable agency policies
• Educate clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observes for side effects
• Monitor clients for substance misuse related withdrawal symptoms
• Maintain electronic health records
• Obtain vital signs, bloodwork, alcohol breath content; conducts blood glucose level, TB and urinalysis testing
• Assist with crisis management (often involving clients under the influence)
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings as required
• Rotates responsibility of conducting nursing education groups to clients

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current LPN license in good standing in Louisiana
• Experience with documentation and data entry (EMR)
• Experience working with alcohol or substance abuse treatment preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Venipuncture experience preferred or willing to learn
• Direct patient care experience preferred

So we posted a similar note recently on our Instagram () in follow-up to some of the stuff that our brand new sister treatment center in , Retreat at Sky Ridge has started doing online. We have been up and running for a few years now, and clearly, we are not social enough online. With a lot of gratitude, we can report that while we may not have been posting here, our amazing team has stayed super busy helping men and women find a healthy, happy, and sustainable path forward! While continuing to do the work we love, we also want to find a better balance on social media and show those that are interested more of the serenity that is Whispering Oaks Lodge. And of course, as we noted on IG, we’ll probably definitely introduce you to some of our beloved dogs and horses :)

A new take on addiction treatment

Situated just a short distance outside of Lafayette in Youngsville, LA, Whispering Oaks Lodge is the realization of our dream to offer a new and comprehensive rehabilitation experience for men and women who want to recover from addiction and alcoholism. Our plan when we began mapping out the physical space and the inner workings of our programs was to bring forward a more relaxed environment that would foster our client’s desire to get better. Too often we have seen individuals that need and want help being boxed into rigid environments with stressful approaches to treatment that end up pushing them further away from overcoming their substance use disorder. Whispering Oaks Lodge provides an alternative approach that we believe will change lives for the better.

By design, Whispering Oaks Lodge is a destination for relaxation and wellness; a true southern oasis, spanning 18 acres, nestled among beautiful oak trees and a glistening, 3-acre fishing pond stocked with bass, bream, catfish, and white perch. From the porch swings to the stables, every detail breathes good ol’ southern hospitality. And of course, it wouldn’t be Louisiana without authentic cajun cuisine.

The inpatient addiction treatment program at Whispering Oaks Lodge is centered around a concept we call controlled freedom. This freedom makes it possible for individuals to actively engage in their day-to-day activities and responsibilities in the outside world while learning how to implement healthy changes in their personal life.
