These trees are beautiful when in bloom but definitely give off a pungent smell. However, their fast growth causes these trees to be dangerously weak during a storm or even the slightest wind gusts.

We can help! Let us do a Free Tree Inspection to evaluate the condition of your Bradford Pear tree(s) and develop a solution that’s right for you.

The invasive species has gotten so out of control, that some North Carolina counties have a bounty on it!

What is Disease Management (for Trees & Shrubs)? 🌿🧫
Plant disease management isn’t a one-time spray—it’s a proactive plan to keep your landscape healthy, especially as spring growth begins.

Our disease management approach focuses on:
✅ Identifying the likely cause (fungal, bacterial, environmental stress, etc.)
✅ Periodic evaluations by our arborist to track changes over time
✅ Targeted treatments only when needed to reduce disease pressure
✅ Practical steps that support plant health (airflow, watering habits, pruning guidance)

🔎Spring prep tip: Late winter/early spring is the ideal time to evaluate plants for early symptoms—before warm, wet weather speeds things up.

If you’re seeing leaf spots, yellowing, thinning, dieback, or “sudden decline,” let’s take a look and recommend the right next step.

Trees and shrubs in North Carolina take a beating—from humid summers, sudden cold snaps, clay soils, and everything pests and diseases love to take advantage of.

Our Plant Health Care (PHC) program is led by a Certified Arborist and focuses on keeping your landscape plants healthy long-term, not just treating problems after they show up. Our PHC services typically include:
🌿Plant pest control (identify the pest and treat only when needed)
🌿Disease management (spot early symptoms and reduce disease pressure)
🌿Soil care to support stronger roots and better growth
🌿Pruning guidance/services to improve structure, airflow, and plant performance

If you’re noticing leaf spots, thinning shrubs, dieback, sticky residue, or stressed-looking plants, we can evaluate what’s going on and recommend the right next step for your property in the Triangle area.

What is Pest Management (and why it matters before spring)? 🌿🐛
Pest management isn’t just “spraying bugs.” It’s a smart, step-by-step approach to protecting the health of your trees and shrubs—especially as plants wake up in spring.

At Advance Tree & Shrub, we use Integrated Pest Management (IPM):
✅ Correct identification of the pest or issue
✅ Periodic evaluations by our arborist to catch problems early
✅ Targeted treatments only when necessary to reduce pest populations
✅ A focus on long-term plant health, not quick fixes

🔎Spring prep tip: Late winter/early spring is the perfect time to evaluate plants for overwintering pests and early damage—so small issues don’t turn into major stress once new growth starts.

Seeing leaf spots, thinning shrubs, sticky residue, or webbing? We’ll help pinpoint the cause and recommend the right next step.

When shrubs are pressed up against the house, they can create a “bridge” for ants and spiders—and they also trap moisture against siding. We recommend keeping 12–18 inches of clearance whenever possible.

That little gap does a lot:
✅ Improves airflow so leaves dry out faster
✅ Reduces disease pressure (less damp, shaded foliage)
✅ Helps plants grow fuller and healthier
✅ Supports overall pest prevention around the home

Landscapers are great for trimming and shaping.
Our Plant Health Care team focuses on the “why” behind the problem—plant stress, insects, disease, soil issues, and the right plan to keep shrubs healthy long-term (not just “cut it back and hope”). If you’re seeing thinning, leaf spots, dieback, scale, mites, or recurring issues, we can diagnose and treat with targeted solutions.

This is the season to show your landscape a little love—because what you do now sets the stage for spring growth.

A few simple ways to “love your trees & shrubs”:
💧 Water during dry spells (even in winter)
🌿 Refresh mulch (but keep it off the trunk)
✂️ Plan pruning for the right plants at the right time
🔍 Watch for early signs of stress—spots, dieback, or thinning

If something looks off, our team can help with professional plant health care (insect & disease management—not landscaping) and honest recommendations.

Late winter is the best time to prune most trees and shrubs in North Carolina.
With leaves gone, we can clearly see weak, crossing, or damaged branches — and trimming now helps prevent breakage, disease, and messy spring growth.
Clean cuts today = healthier trees tomorrow.

Great trees start below the surface.
Compacted soil, buried root flares, and poor drainage can quietly weaken even the strongest trees. That’s why soil care and root collar inspections are a big part of what we do.
Healthy roots = healthy trees.
