Recently we had a very Large Mill Mom come in that was not in good health.
She had a few weeks to learn what true love and softness is and passed away at her fosters home.
Thank you Ashley DX Nye funeral home for helping us out with transport and cremation.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUNGWOOD 🤩🥳

Be sure to come out and see the Youngwood 125th Anniversary Parade on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.

The parade will start in the Shop n Save parking lot and proceed down 3rd Street (119N) to Walnut Street where the parade will turn right. The parade will continue down 1st Street, then 2nd Street and will end in the Youngwood VFD parking lot.

The parade will consist of: The Hempfield Area High School Marching Band, Boy Scouts, Youngwood Recreation, Shriners in funny cars, Clowns, Classic/Antique Cars, lots of Fire Trucks, It's So Youngwood/Y.A.R.D., the Lion’s Club, the VFW (Post 211), Armbrust Veterans, the Blue Knights, and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Firefighters' Pipes and Drums Band.

Spectators, for the best viewing of the parade, should line up on 3rd Street between Newell Street and Walnut Street. The Hempfield Area High School Band will provide a stationary performance when they arrive to Chestnut Street.

Be sure to get a good spot on the sidewalk early. Bring your chairs, sunscreen, and lots of water. It is supposed to be sunny on parade day and they are calling for a High of 85-degrees.

On Saturday, August 24th, there will be NO parking on 3rd Street, Walnut Street, 1st Street, Depot Street, and S. 2nd Street between 10:00am – 2:00pm on Saturday, August 24th. Make plans to park elsewhere. Also, the Youngwood Recreation Complex will be closed between 10:00am – 11:59pm to all people and vehicles. Lastly, be advised that traffic will be delayed on Wagner Road, from the Recreation Complex to 3rd Street, as the parade vehicle participants will be staged to join the parade.

Streets will be closed with barriers and cones. Some of those traffic control points will be manned. If not manned, please do not move barriers or cones as you could jeopardize the safety of those marching in the parade.

We ask for everyone’s cooperation and patience, prior to, during, and after the parade. Safety is paramount and we will do our best to get traffic flowing again…as fast as possible. Please share this post for the widest dissemination.

In Loving Memory of Easton, Connor, and Nolan Rockovich 🕊💙💙💙

Easton, Connor, and Nolan Rockovich, identical triplets gained their angel wings on their birthday June 14, 2023. The beloved sons of Nicole and James Rockovich and baby brothers to Andrew, Reid, and Cole came into this world unexpectedly and showed us how bravery and courage, when wrapped in a deep foundation of love can gracefully guide us through our darkest days. We will forever remember how their spirits held us tenderly through our deepest pain and suffering, while feeling their presence with us witnessing the joy in being able to hold them so fiercely and protective of them. Our hearts are shattered but we thank you Easton, Connor, and Nolan for softening the hard edges when grief feels like too much, and knowing every time the world shows us something of beauty we will think of you, and your names will be our new Hallelujah. These three mighty guardian angels will forever shine their halos to shelter, support and lead their parents & brothers as well as their grandparents Jim and Deb Rockovich & Judi Cline. “The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still”, Exoddus 14:14.
