Mental health awareness is more than a conversation, it’s how we create real change 🤍
When we understand mental health, we start to show up differently for ourselves and each other.
• It helps us recognize the early signs and seek support sooner
• It reduces stigma and creates space for honesty and empathy
• It reminds us that mental well-being is just as important as physical health
The more we talk about it, the less alone people feel.
Let’s keep the conversation going.

You’re the one everyone thinks is “doing great.”
You show up. You handle it. You keep going.
But internally… it’s a different story.
• Overthinking everything
• Struggling to fully relax
• Feeling constant pressure to do more
• Mentally exhausted, even when nothing “big” happened
Just because you’re functioning doesn’t mean you’re okay.
You don’t have to carry that alone 🤍
📩 If this resonates, we’re here to support you.

Every teenager has mood swings.
But sometimes parents notice something deeper and aren't sure what they're seeing.

Here are three subtle signs a teen might be struggling emotionally:

1️⃣ They withdraw from things they used to enjoy
Sports, hobbies, friends, suddenly none of it seems interesting.

2️⃣ Sleep patterns change
Either sleeping constantly or staying up most of the night.

3️⃣ They get irritated over small things
Sometimes it's not attitude, it's stress they don't know how to talk about.

Teens often struggle to explain what they're feeling. And many parents worry about overreacting or making it worse. You're not alone if you've felt that way.

We work with families around Detroit and Ypsilanti helping teens learn how to process emotions, build confidence, and communicate better. If you ever have questions about what you're seeing in your teen, you're welcome to message us privately or reach out today: http://www.prosperitycs.org/start-your-intake-here.html

For many people, slowing down feels unsafe—not because rest is wrong, but because survival mode has been the norm.
Healing often begins with learning that it’s okay to pause.
That you don’t have to earn rest.
That you’re allowed to exist without pushing.
Support can help make that feel possible again.

Healing isn’t a straight line.
Some days you feel like yourself again…
and the next, it feels like you’re right back where you started.
That doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you’re human.
Growth looks like:
• having a hard day and not judging yourself for it
• noticing patterns you didn’t see before
• responding differently, even if it’s small
• getting back up without needing to “start over”
You’re not behind.
You’re in it.
If today feels heavy, let it be a day you move gently instead of perfectly. 🤍

Insurance is accepted, including:
Aetna | Blue Cross | Medicaid | Cigna | McLaren | Priority Health

This week's local mental health chat: ✨Saying no✨
I feel like “saying no” is one of those things no one really teaches you how to do… but almost everyone struggles with.
A lot of us were raised to be helpful, accommodating, and easygoing. So when we do say no, it can come with guilt, over-explaining, or that lingering feeling like we let someone down.
But learning how to say no in a healthy way is honestly one of the most important mental health skills you can build. Not in a harsh or closed-off way, but in a way that protects your time, your energy, and your capacity.
Some small shifts that can make it easier:
You don’t have to give a long explanation for your no
“I can’t commit to that right now” is a complete sentence
Delaying your answer (“let me get back to you”) gives you space to decide
Saying no to one thing is often saying yes to something you actually need
It’s simple, but not always easy, especially if you’re used to putting others first. We talk about this with clients in the Detroit / Ypsilanti area all the time! If this topic resonates, you're always welcome to reach out privately or via our website!
