We can’t talk about mental health without also acknowledging the implications of policies and how political decisions can hurt those in our communities who are most vulnerable.
Unfortunately, both food and housing insecurity is on the rise and resources are declining. Here are some community resources that are available for those experiencing food and/or housing insecurity in the area. Please please please, never hesitate to utilize community resources as funding is generally granted based on usage!

Some stats on SNAP benefits in MI for FY 2024-
“In fiscal year 2024, Michigan's SNAP (food stamps) program served about 1.47 million people, which is 14.5% of the state's population. The participants are diverse, with SNAP households including children (43%), older adults (36%), and individuals with a disability (51%). Most participants have incomes below the federal poverty line, though 78% of households include someone with a job.”
