SWWC Business students recently took an educational trip to the Ford Rouge Factory in Dearborn, where they explored the rich history and cutting-edge technology behind one of America’s most legendary automotive manufacturers.
The visit included two short films that highlighted Ford’s evolution—from Henry Ford’s early vision of accessible transportation for all, to the company’s modern-day commitment to sustainability and innovation. Students were provided a guided tour through the Rouge’s impressive assembly plant. They observed vehicles in various stages of production, witnessing the precision and coordination required to bring each car to life. From robotic assembly lines to human-led quality checks, the tour provided an up-close look at how technology and teamwork intersect in today’s manufacturing world.
This experience gave students valuable insight into large-scale business operations, supply chain management, and the principles of innovation that continue to drive Ford forward. The trip not only connected classroom learning to real-world applications but also inspired many students to think about future careers in business, management, and manufacturing.
