Practical Steps to Support Healthy Cholesterol
Small, intentional shifts in your daily habits can have a lasting impact on your cholesterol levels and overall wellness. Let’s explore three foundational strategies you can begin integrating today:

Prioritize Fiber-Rich Foods: Including options like oats, legumes, and fresh fruits in your diet can help reduce LDL (the “bad” cholesterol). Bonus: high-fiber foods also support fullness, which can curb mindless snacking and promote balanced eating.

Lemon Balm and Its Therapeutic Applications in Mood and Sleep Disorders

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) has garnered attention for its anxiolytic and antidepressant properties, particularly in the context of maternal mental health. Preliminary evidence suggests its efficacy in mitigating postpartum depression and improving sleep quality.

In a clinical investigation involving 60 post-cesarean women, administration of lemon balm at a dosage of 500mg three times daily over a 10-day period yielded a statistically significant reduction in postpartum depressive symptoms. This outcome highlights the potential of lemon balm as a complementary intervention in postnatal care.

Another study conducted over eight weeks demonstrated that individuals experiencing sleep disturbances and anxiety reported improvements in both mood and sleep quality following lemon balm supplementation. Additionally, findings indicated lowered stress and anxiety levels.

Further clinical inquiry among hospitalized burn patients revealed that lemon balm tea, consumed twice daily, was associated with reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression as well as enhanced sleep quality.

Notably, a combined herbal trial examining the effects of lemon balm and Persian lavender identified measurable improvements in depression and anxiety among participants diagnosed with severe insomnia.

Do you or your teen struggle with acne?

Herbal Acne Face Mask
Ingredients:
1 tsp. neem powder (anti-bacterial and purifying)
1 tsp. tumeric powder (anti-inflammatory & brightening)
1 Tblsp. aloe vera gel (soothing and hydration)
1 tsp. raw honey
optional:
2-3 drops tea tree oil for extra acne fighting power (dilute if skin is sensitive)

Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in small bowl to form a smooth spreadable paste
2. Cleanse face with warm water to open your pores
3. Apply mask evenly over face - avoiding eyes and lips
4. Relax 10-15 minutes while herbs work their magic
5. Rinse off gently with lukewarm water & pat dry
6. Moisturize with light non-comedogenic moisturizer or aloe gel

Use 1-2 times per week (Always do a patch test first, especially if using essential oils).
