Who else gets caught up in the comparison game? 🙋‍♀️

I mean we didn't get the saying "Keeping up with the Joneses" for no reason.

It's like it's hard wired into us to compare.

But comparison leads to chipping away at our sense of self. We put ourselves down.

We can change this!

1. Call yourself out when you do it.
2. Remind yourself of what you are grateful for in your life.
3. Only compare to yourself yesterday. Keep trying to do better than you did yesterday.

Hello my fellow Okies. We need your help!

In addition to violating your privacy, confidentially, and your right to choose the disclosure of you private health records, this law will require providers to pay a startup fee to be in compliance with a mandated program we do not want and do not believe in. We have been quoted a $5,000 start up cost regardless if we are a solo provider or a large organization. There will also be an additional monthly charge which we have not been provided consistent answers regarding this monthly charge. There has also been information about an additional 10% charge for billing.

We will also be required to switch our electronic health records to one that complies with the state mandated program. This will be costly in hours to switch over, the cost of a new system, operational hours to learn a new system, and possibility of losing clients in the process.

This is a gross overreach of your government. I'm asking all of you to reach out to your legislators, OHCA, and the governor to speak out against this law.

Mindfulness is getting in control of your brain, not having your brain control you.

Mindfulness has been shown to be just as, if not more, effective as prescription medications for depression and anxiety.

Just like with medication, we should take our daily dose of mindfulness.

There are several ways to find mindfulness in your day.

The key is finding the ones that work for you!

🐝 Mindful breathing is probably the easiest skill to learn and very easy to do in times when you're around others.

🐝 Gratitude allows us to reflect on what we have in our lives rather than comparing our lives.

🐝 Positive affirmations are compliments to ourselves.

🐝 Meditation allows us to find the quiet when we might be stressed or in the thick of chaos.

🐝 Body scans gets us grounded to our bodies to learn to listen to it and honor it better.

F**k Diet Culture!

Many of us have wasted too many hours and years of our lives dictated by diet culture.

Now it's time to reject it.

Don't allow it to take anything else from you.

1. Call it out.
🐝 This may look like setting boundaries withloved ones who are discussing their latest diet.
🐝 Unfollowing social media accounts that promote diet culture.
🐝 Recognizing it in media sources like TV shows and movies.

2. Let go of diet tools.
🍯 Ditch the calorie counter apps and all scales.
🍯 Toss any diet books or magazines.
🍯 Work with a nutritionist and therapist to let go of diet rules.

3. Live in the Now.
🐝 Challenge your thoughts on weightloss and the "new you"
🐝 Buy clothes that fit your body and that are comfy.
🐝 Practice mindfulness and body positive/neutral affirmations.

4. Use Self-Compassion.
🍯 Give yourself grace.
🍯 Speak to yourself with kindness.
🍯 Changed your mindset to how you can learn and grow.

Only you can take care of you. Diet culture has no business telling you how to live your life or about your body.

You ARE worthy. You worth is NOT defined by your body.

It's normal to cry.

Crying is part of being human – and there are many benefits to crying.

Crying can help relieve stress, feel better and make you feel more relaxed.

It's ok to cry. In fact, it's healthy! Cry whenever you feel the need and never feel ashamed.

Never let someone else or society tell you when l, how, or why you should or should not cry.

Reject the judgemental and shameful messages about crying. Let it out because you may do more harm than good holding it in.

Harmful effects of avoiding crying:
🐝 Inability to regulate or identify your emotions.
🍯 Increases anxiety, depression, and/stress.
🐝 Causes poor sleep.
🍯 Can lead to cardiovascular diseases or cancer
🐝 Impacts attachment.

Crying is the relief you feel when you accept his you feel. Crying is not weak.

You don't have to share all your layers and honey (energy) with everyone.

Protect your honey 🍯!

Not everyone deserves all aspects of your lives.

Your core is yourself, inner team, and possibly your higher power. This is your true self. Not everyone is or should be offered honey from this layer.

The next layer could be your therapist, bestie(s), significant other, or immediate family/chosen family. Sometimes these are three separate layers.

The next couple of layers could be close friends, extended family, or who ever you want.

The next layers might be employer/employees or acquaintances.

Final layer may be strangers, those who have violated boundaries, or any one else you want on the outer layer.

Each layer gets a different level of energy, information, and sees different parts of you.

The important thing is that you get the choice. No one else makes that choice for you!
