Starting the week of February 13, Wildlight Rehabilitation is offering free pediatric developmental screenings for children ages 6 months to 4 years and 11 months, for gross motor, fine motor and speech/language milestones. Screenings take approximately 30 minutes and are performed by a licensed therapist. Appointments are required and are offered on Mondays at 12:45 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 a.m.

Meet Shannon Taylor, a pediatric occupational therapist at UF Health Rehabilitation – Wildlight. Shannon explains what types of needs she addresses with her patients, what she enjoys most about her profession and why this facility's presence in Yulee is so important to her.

Meet Jessie Walczak, a physical therapist at UF Health Rehabilitation – Wildlight. Jessie explains how the multidisciplinary team works together to develop treatment plans for pediatric patients, what she loves about her profession and why this facility is so important for the Wildlight community.

Jessie treats children for balance disorders, congenital muscular disorders, developmental delays with gross motor skills, such as crawling and walking, and gait dysfunctions.

Ashley treats children ages birth to 18 for aphasia, apraxia, articulation disorder, feeding and swallowing issues, functional issues due to genetic disorders, speech and language delays and stuttering.
