With Mother's day approaching, I feel so blessed that I have finally found the answer to being the best mom that I can be( not perfect by any means, but far from my past self)!

Taking care of myself!
As moms, it is so easy to fill our days with ALL the things to do in order to support our families. Cooking, cleaning, activities, school work, outings, playing, and for many of us, going to work ourselves.
We feed the kids and get everything packed for the day and run out without even giving ourselves a thought. 2 hours later, we are starving but don't have time to stop home to make something healthy. Easy, on the road food it is. 2 hours after this, we feel the sluggish feelings, our mood seems to be slightly irritable, we snap easier at the kids( or the hubby). This is when we begin to stress that we need to get home so that we can make everyone a healthy dinner..... but we dread every moment because our energy is low and we find no joy in cooking nowadays. We get home, do 1000 small but necessary things for all the people in the house and then stomp to the kitchen to figure out what dinner is, for what feels like the 50th time this week. We make something super quick, get the kids set up and take a minute to breathe on the couch. In less than 10 minutes, everyone is done eating and needs you again.... but wait, you didn't even eat your own food and it is somehow gone! You grab something easy from the pantry and finish up the daily chores. Kids get to bed and now you have some time to care for yourself.....but... you fall asleep instead 😴

I lived this story for so long and I see the same story with my so many of my clients. I'm here to tell you that this is not what we are here for. We are not here to dread our days, to complain under our breath as we take on the world .
We are here to truly LIVE our days, feel peace, calm, and joy in most of the moments, to rest, to play, to create! When we find a way to this joy, guess who also benefits big time??
Our children want to see a happy, healthy mommy. They want to be like happy, healthy mommy, they want to take advice and learn from happy, healthy mommy!
