In case you missed it! You may have recognized our Nurse Practitioner, Nurudeen Mahama, on the YRMC FB page. Nurudeen is a part of our extended family at our Dialysis Center.

Nurudeen, the support and care you provide are more powerful than medicine because you show compassion and kindness.

Nurse practitioner Nurudeen “Deen” Mahama is known for taking time to get to know his patients and his colleagues. As a hospitalist, Deen has a demanding schedule, but he always knows when to pause and help others with his kind words and care. Here is what a colleague had to say about Deen:

“Deen is the epitome of what a nurse practitioner should be. He takes the time to sit and listen to his patients and provides the most wonderful care. He is compassionate, thoughtful, thorough and such a tremendous asset to YRMC. He is not only great with his patients but is extremely supportive to all the staff and works hard to meet the needs of the whole health care team. Deen is exactly the provider that we should all strive to be! When I first started as a hospitalist, Deen was there to guide me and support me. He had such a huge impact on me and my practice.”

Do you know how to use a home blood pressure monitor?

Remember the following when taking your blood pressure.
1. Be still.
2. Sit correctly. Sit with your back straight and supported
3. Measure at the same time every day
4. Take multiple readings and record the results
5. Don't take the measurements over cloths

Yuma Regional Medical Center's Civic Center vaccination site will shift to a state-supported COVID-19 vaccination site on March, 29. This shift will provide us with more than double the vaccines and allow us to ramp up to our maximum weekly production.
A big thanks to the Arizona Department of Health Services, Yuma County Government, and the City of Yuma Government for partnering on this effort to increase available vaccinations for our community.
