Here is the post everyone has been waiting for:

Yesterday at approximately 1:45pm Rural Metro Fire responded for report of a commercial fire at the Yuma Liquidstion Store in the Foothills. Upon arrival crews found the storage area West of the liquidation building fully involved with multiple structures involved. There were surrounding businesses endangered and evacuated. Crews quickly deployed multiple hose lines and began fire attack and structure protection to the liquidations main building and nearby businesses. Due to the intense fire load and wind conditions, Rural Metro Fire requested the City of Yuma Fire Department for mutual aid. Crews worked tirelessly for some time to contain the fire. The fire was contained to the liquidation lot. Crews remained on scene for several hours mopping up and extinguishing hotspots. One firefighter from Rural Metro Fire was injured while no other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Thank you to the City of Yuma Fire Department for the mutual aid and to Freedomland Ranch for the water they gave to our firefighters.

To clarify some of the concerns, no Rural Metro Fire didn’t ever run out of water nor did the City of Yuma Fire. Both departments had several working fire hydrants that were being utilized. The liquidation store itself was not harmed in the fire, it was their liquidation items/storage buildings behind it.

UPDATE 3/3 125pm: The investigation concluded there was no rear end collision to the RV. For unknown reasons the RV caught fire and veered off the roadway.

Today at approximately 5:35pm, Rural Metro Fire responded to a report of a residential fire in the area of S Pacific Ave and S Calle Primavera. Upon arrival, crews found an RV fully involved, endangering a residence. Crews quickly deployed hose lines and began extinguishing the fire. The fire was extinguished and contained to the RV. The fire was caused by the RV, which was traveling on S Pacific Ave when it was rear-ended, causing it to roll off of S Pacific Ave and toward a home on S Calle Primavera where it caught fire in the yard. Fortunately, there were no injuries and the home sustained minor damage. Great work, “A”-Crew!

Thank you to City of Yuma Fire Department for the mutual aid response!
