What a wonderful day at the Children's Museum of Yuma County! 🧸✨

Last week, we hosted a special Onvida Health employee day where team members and their families got to experience our newest interactive healthcare exhibit. From the mini clinic and ambulance to the Teddy Bear Clinic, kids stepped into the roles of doctors, nurses, EMTs and more, learning what it means to care for others through play.

It was so special to see our Onvida Health families connect, explore and make memories together.

This exhibit is open to the entire community! Come explore, imagine and play alongside your little ones.

We loved being part of the Children’s Festival of the Arts this past Saturday! 🎨✨

Our Pediatrics team spent the day connecting with families, getting creative, making crafts, sharing smiles and helping kids make fun art projects to take home. It’s always special to see our community come together to celebrate creativity and young voices.

We’re proud to welcome Parneet Parekh, DO, to Onvida Health!

Dr. Parekh is an anesthesiologist serving patients at Onvida Health Yuma Medical Center. She earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Touro University in Henderson, NV, completed her general surgery internship at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, NV and her anesthesiology residency at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, FL.

Dr. Parekh is dedicated to providing attentive, high-quality anesthesia care with a focus on patient safety and comfort.

Join us in celebrating Krista Mantica, RN, the 2026 recipient of the Diana Karina Robles Lizarraga Memorial Scholarship.

Krista has been caring for our community at Onvida Health since 2022 and is deeply connected to the nursing community, volunteering with the Yuma County Nurses Foundation and Arizona Nurses Association, serving on the board of Rio Colorado Chapter 7 and honoring lives as a member of the Southern Arizona Nurses Honor Guard. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing and plans to continue into the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program at Grand Canyon University.

This scholarship honors Diana, a beloved ICU nurse remembered for her compassion, mentorship and dedication to her fellow nurses. Established by her loved ones, it reflects her passion for education and is awarded each year on her birthday, April 20.

This year, thanks to the generosity of Dr. Shawn Hermeanu, the scholarship has been endowed, continuing her legacy by supporting future nurses for generations to come.

We were proud to join the San Luis community for the annual Kids and Teens Free of Alcohol Wellness Event this past Monday at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center.

This important event focused on raising awareness about alcohol and substance abuse while encouraging healthier choices for youth.

Our CPR Education team, Behavioral Health team, and volunteers were on-site sharing resources, providing education and connecting with families and teens.

We also shared information about our free CPR certification classes, our new San Luis Medical Campus, Family Medicine providers in San Luis and the behavioral health services we offer.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to the South Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition for creating a space that supports the well-being of the San Luis community. 🧡

Inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals starts right here in our community!

Dr. Michael R. Tracy, Physician Vice President of Surgical Services at Onvida Health, recently visited Crane Middle School’s Career Exploration class, where 7th and 8th grade students had the opportunity to learn what it’s like to be an orthopedic surgeon and explore future careers in healthcare.

Speaking to nearly 100 students, Dr. Tracy shared his personal journey, offered advice and answered thoughtful questions from students eager to learn more about the field.

This experience was made possible through our partnership with the Southwest Health Education Collaborative, which is helping create meaningful opportunities that connect students with real-world experiences in healthcare.

This past Saturday, our team joined the community at Gateway Park for a 5K walk to raise awareness, promote inclusion and stand alongside the incredible children and families we serve.

Our Pediatrics team was on-site, sharing helpful resources and offering Hands-Only CPR demonstrations for parents and caregivers, empowering families with simple skills that can make a lifesaving difference.

We're happy to welcome Felecia Jinwala, MD, to the Onvida Health family!

Dr. Jinwala is a board-certified vascular and general surgeon. She earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ and completed her general surgery residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She went on to complete a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.

Her clinical focus includes cerebrovascular disease and aortoiliac and aneurysmal conditions.

Dr. Jinwala is now accepting new patients at Onvida Health Surgery Suite 201 (2270 Ridgeview Drive, Suite 201, Yuma, AZ 85364). To schedule an appointment, call 928-336-6920.
