Q1 at Apex Spine and Performance brought a lot of wins. This one tops the list.

Dr. Jake Helms DC officially became a partner.

Four years ago he came from Michigan for a preceptorship. We assumed at some point he'd head back home. He never did - and Apex is a better place because of it.

This guy has wanted to be a chiropractor since the 5th grade. That's not something you teach. He does the right thing every time, no questions asked. He balances out my intensity with his steadiness. Dependable in every sense of the word.

At this point he's not a colleague - he's a brother.

He deserves every bit of recognition that comes with this moment - and I wanted to make sure he got it publicly.

To Dr. Jake - it's an honor to do this with you. 🫡

Wednesday = family adjustment day. Non-negotiable.

Most weeks it's not even in the office - it's on the portable table downstairs right after Canaan walks in from soccer practice.

Taking care of your people starts at home.

We’re still experiencing an issue with our text messaging system.

At this time, we are able to receive messages, but some patients may not be receiving our outgoing texts, including appointment reminders. This appears to be a system-wide issue affecting other offices as well.

All appointments are still on as regularly scheduled.

If you’re unsure about your appointment time, please give our office a call and we’ll be happy to confirm.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this!

The most dangerous place to be is “comfortable.”

Spent the weekend with DCs from our TLC4SuperTeams fam breaking down every word, every transition, and every interaction we have with our patients.

The tools that don’t get sharpened go dull. It’s that simple.

This applies whether you’re a chiropractor building a practice or a patient taking control of your health. Comfort keeps you exactly where you are. Discomfort is where the change happens.

Who’s leaning into the uncomfortable this year?

You can’t out-supplement a bad lifestyle.

If you’ve been around Apex, you know the 3 T’s:
🧠 Thoughts (stress)
🧪 Toxins (processed foods)
🦴 Traumas (including not moving enough)

Fix the foundation first — sleep, movement, and stress — then supplements can actually help.

Your daily habits shape how you feel.

Start simple:
☀️ Get morning sunlight
💧 Drink water first
📵 Limit screen time
🚶‍♂️ Move your body (even for just 10 minutes)
🧼 Reset your space

"Pain didn't make me start. What made me start was the decision I needed to make a change."

At some point, it’s not just about managing symptoms… it’s about realizing something needs to change.

Don made that decision — and it changed his path.

If you’ve been putting it off, this might be your sign.

Apex Spine & Performance

Ready to plant roots in his hometown as a business owner and health professional, Dr. Ryan E. Weaver - a graduate of Tri-Valley High School, opens APEX Spine & Performance in the heart of Zanesville. Choosing a career in the health and wellness field was an easy decision for Ryan as his lifestyle has been firmly rooted in fitness and performance for over a decade - beginning with high school sports and evolving into CrossFit training + competition. Although physical fitness is important to Ryan, the benefits of self-care is what drove his passion to the world of Chiropractic care. “Keeping your neuro-musculoskeletal system in check is one of the best things you can do for your overall health. I am excited to join my community as a wellness advocate and a resource for anyone on a journey to better health. My personally tailored new-patient experience will put you on a path that is custom to your goals. Let’s improve your energy, strength, and your quality of life - together.” - Dr. Ryan E. Weaver “APEX Spine & Performance is for everyone.” Ryan notes. His goal is to create an open-door business where patients feel like family and create a routine with their tailored care plan. Ryan mentioned his patients see him for an array of ailments including allergies, digestive problems, migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more. “The most common misconception,” he said, “is that chiropractic care is only for neck and back pain”. Education is a major component to his care plans and he’s set to teach mini-sessions every week that are a treasure trove of information. You can learn more about APEX Spine & Performance by visiting their website, www.apexzanesville.com or by following them on Facebook and Instagram. Dr. Weaver can be reached at info@apexzanesville.com for questions and appointment scheduling. About APEX Spine & Performance: Established in 2018 and opened in 2019, APEX is owned and operated by Dr. Ryan E. Weaver. Born and raised locally, he graduated from Ohio University in 2011 and Palmer Chiropractic College in 2015. After graduation, Ryan worked with practices throughout Ohio and determined his hometown as the site for his new business. Ryan is a member of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce and well as the Zanesville Rotary. He is also an active participant in local fitness events. Ryan lives with his dog (Watson) in Nashport, Ohio.
