The bond between our patients and their beloved animals is something truly special. These furry companions are more than pets—they are family, comfort, and unconditional love wrapped into one.

Whether it’s a gentle nuzzle, a familiar presence at the bedside, or simply the joy of being together, these moments bring peace, reduce anxiety, and remind our patients they are never alone. Animals have a beautiful way of understanding what words sometimes cannot.

At Shrivers Hospice, we cherish the role these companions play in our patients’ lives. Because sometimes, the greatest comfort comes with four legs and a wagging tail. 🐶🐱

Inspiring the Next Generation of Nurses 💙

Janet and Maddie recently had the opportunity to speak with future nurses at Ohio University Zanesville, sharing what it truly means to care for patients on hospice.

They educated students on hospice care, the areas we serve, qualifications for hospice eligibility, and the many roles of an RN in hospice. They also highlighted the importance of strong clinical skills and critical thinking in providing compassionate, high-quality care.

They spoke from the heart about the compassion, connection, and purpose that comes with being a hospice nurse—offering comfort, dignity, and support during life’s most meaningful moments. 💫

We’re so proud to have team members who are passionate about educating and inspiring the next generation of caregivers. The future of nursing is in great hands!

Hopping Through Our Communities 🐰🌷

🐰✨ Somebunny made a very special appearance at the Embassy of Logan’s Easter celebration… and we just might know who it was 😉

Let’s just say our referral advocate Ashley was very busy that day spreading smiles, hugs, and a little Easter magic to everyone who stopped by 👀

And the Easter fun didn’t stop there! At Highland Oaks, our referral advocate Averee joined in on another wonderful celebration—where a very special returning Easter Bunny made an appearance once again 🐣💛

We love being part of such fun community moments—especially when they involve a few familiar (and fluffy) faces!

Today is World Autism Awareness Day 💙

Easter is right around the corner, and our Referral Advocates have been hopping all over the community spreading kindness and support 🐰💛🐣

Michelle R. put together a bucket filled with cleaning supplies for the Guernsey County Senior Citizens CenterGuernsey and spent time painting Easter eggs at the Embassy of Cambridge.

Michelle D. delivered two Easter baskets for the Roscoe Gardens Skilled Nursing & Rehab community Easter egg hunt, and alongside her daughter Maddie, helped out at the Walnut Hills Retirement Community Easter event—where Shrivers Hospice also sponsored the beautiful balloon arch created by Deb Schrock of Berlin, Ohio, adding a festive touch to the celebration!

Ashley has been just as busy, attending the 23rd annual March for Meals fundraiser (where Shrivers Hospice was honored to be the corporate sponsor) and setting up a table at the Meigs County Board of DD wellness fair to educate and connect with the community.

We love being part of these moments that bring people together—especially during such a joyful season. 🌷
