Hospice isn’t about giving up—it’s about choosing comfort, dignity, and support when they matter most. Many families ask, “Is it time?” Here are a few signs it may be helpful to start the
conversation:

• Frequent hospitalizations or ER visits
• Increased pain or symptoms that are hard to manage
• Declining ability to perform daily activities
• Little or no improvement with ongoing treatments
• A desire to focus on comfort rather than cure

Hospice care provides expert medical support, emotional and spiritual care, and guidance for both patients and families—right where they are. You don’t have to wait for a crisis to ask questions.

Extreme Cold Weather Tips to Stay Warm 🧣❄

With temperatures dropping, staying warm is especially important for our patients, caregivers, and families. A few simple steps can help keep everyone safe and comfortable during extreme
cold:

• Dress in layers and keep blankets nearby
• Keep your home heated consistently and close off unused rooms
• Drink warm fluids like soup, tea, or hot chocolate ☕
• Check hands and feet often and use warm socks or slippers
• Limit time outdoors and ask for help with errands when possible

We are thrilled to welcome Taylor Russell as the new Executive Director of the Shrivers Hospice Foundation! A Zanesville native, Taylor is a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School and Ohio University. He has been a proud member of the Zanesville Jaycees for 14 years and currently serves on several local board of directors. We are excited to have Taylor’s leadership, passion and strong community roots guiding the Foundation forward.

Taylor said he is excited for the challenge of raising vital funds that will help the Foundation provide unforgettable experiences for our amazing patients and their families. He looks forward to helping make Shrivers Hospice Foundation and Shrivers Hospice household names in the communities we serve. 💙💚
