Deborah Kay Lankford, 72 of Zanesville Ohio sadly gained her angel wings on January 11, 2026, surrounded by her family. She is proceeded in death by her mother and father Hannah and Robert Lankford of Mount Sterling, Ohio; 3 brothers, Ernest, Roger, and Robert “Bobby” Lankford; 3 sisters, Judy Gribble, Carol Tarbill of Sabina Ohio, Beverly “Bev” Shaw of Washington Courthouse Ohio and grandson, Cody Waller of Zanesville Ohio.

Deborah is survived by her daughter, Jessica “Jessi” Waller (Davis) of Zanesville Ohio; 2 brothers, Bill and Danny Lankford of Washington Courthouse Ohio; sister, Pammie Sue Kline of Sabina Ohio; two grandchildren, Crystal (Corey Mangold) Waller of Sioux Falls South Dakota and Terry (Tiffany) Davis of Lake-city Florida; 8 great grandchildren, Kayden, Dakota, Ryker and Azrael Mangold and Sophia, Lillianna, Chloe and Sawyer Davis; special niece, Angie Lankford of Sabina Ohio as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Deborah spent her life caring for others at Autumn Years Nursing Center in Sabina Ohio. She loves spending time with her family and reading books in her spare time. Deborah was a five-year cancer survivor. The family lost a beautiful person, and heaven gained a beautiful angel. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Carol Sue Moses, 87 of Zanesville Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Willow Haven nursing home. Carol was born on August 4, 1938, to Sidney and Myrtle Mayle. In addition to her parents, Carol is also preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Martin; sons, Ronald Moorehead, and Otis Moses; 12 siblings; grandchildren, Jerry and Joel Martin, Jaylin Ware and Jade Moorehead.

Carol leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Sharon Burke and Gayla Ware; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren; sister, Kathy Goins, as well as many other friends and family.

Carol loved to make people laugh. She was known as the life of the party. She worked for many years with Zanesville city schools, where the students would refer to her as “Grandma Carol”. She also enjoyed going fishing in her free time. Carol will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Per her wishes, cremation has been chosen. Memorial service will be held in her honor on January 26, 2026, from 11am until 12pm with services starting at 12pm at Burrell funeral services in Zanesville. Pastor Keith Wyatt officiating. Lila Lee Mayle, 85, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Lila was born on January 31, 1940, to Sidney and Myrtle Mayle. In addition to her parents, Lila was preceded in death by her loving husband, Benjamin Mayle, and her children, Kevin Stevens, Lisa Croston, and Jannie McCorvey, as well as eleven siblings.

Lila leaves to cherish her memory her children, Leann (Donald) Caldwell, Vincent Mayle, and Michael (Shelley) Mayle; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Moses and Kathy Mayle; along with many other family members and friends.

Lila devoted her life to creating a home filled with love, warmth, and togetherness. As a homemaker, she made her house the heart of the family—where grandchildren, relatives, and friends always knew they were welcome. Her home became the gathering place for countless memories, especially the cherished New Year’s Eve tradition with her and her beloved husband, Benjamin “Grandpa Benny.” Those nights remain some of her grandchildren’s most treasured moments.

A passionate reader, Lila found joy in books for many years. When her eyesight no longer allowed her to read, she delighted in hearing the Bible read aloud, finding comfort and strength in Scripture. She also expressed her love through her hands, crocheting blankets for her family and friends—each one a gift of warmth, time, and care.

Within the community, Lila was known for her welcoming smile, her gentle spirit, and her kind heart. Even as she faced numerous surgeries and ongoing health challenges, her light never dimmed. Her resilience, grace, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Lila will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave, the comfort she created, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 12 p.m., officiated by Pastor Terrence Brown and Minister Adam Caldwell, at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Cremation will follow. Burial of Lila’s ashes will take place at a later date in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Burrell Funeral Services is serving the family.

Lynn B. Dennis Jr., 75 of Chandlersville Ohio, passed away January 7, 2026, at licking Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born July 6, 1950, in Zanesville to Lynn B. Dennis Sr. and Elizabeth (Smith) Dennis. In addition to his parents, Lynn is also preceded in death by an infant brother, Ronald and an infant sister Marguerite A. Dennis; sister-in-law, Jean (Drabik) Dennis.

Lynn is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Susan Dennis (Mitchell) who he married January 17, 1970; twin daughters, Susan Stevens and Marquita (Troy) Nelson both of Zanesville; two sons, Anthony Dennis and Eric Dennis, both of Chandlersville; grandchildren, Kristen (Tyler) Bash, Courtney (Scott) Seitz and Haley (Bo) Bednarczuk all of Zanesville and AJ Stevens of Buchtel; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Leslie Dennis and Russell (Becky) Dennis both of Zanesville; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He retired from all American homes in 2008. He was an army veteran who has served in Vietnam in 1972 and 1973. Lynn also served in the army reserves from 1982 to 1988. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

No calling hours will be observed, and a caring cremation will take place. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.

William Edward Paxton, 78, of Zanesville Oh, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026. William was born on December 27, 1947, to Ralph and Sylvia Paxton. In addition to his parents, William also is proceeded in death by his ex-wife Harriet Larimer; one brother and one sister.

William leads to cherish his memory, his son, Mike (Kelly) Paxton; granddaughter, Marie Hatem; brother, Fred Paxton; sister, Shirley Rush as well as several other friends and family.

William loved to go bowling in his free time. He also enjoyed roller-skating and dancing.

Marsha A. Ball (Williams) of Philo, Ohio Died from a broken heart at her home on 1/13/2026. She was 63 years old. Born on 12/11/1962 in Zanesville, Ohio to Asa B Williams and Shirley A (Gordon) Williams.

She is survived by daughter-Janette (Nicholson) Perez (Javier); Son, Adam Nicholson; stepchildren; 8 grandchildren, Dylan Adkins (Rani Snyder), Bailey Nicholson, Delaney Perez, Heather Perez (Chris Gillogly), Trace Perez (Sierra), Kaden Nicholson; two great grandchildren and her niece Angela Saxton (Shawn). Along with many in-laws, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ball, who passed on 12/10/2025, her mother Shirley A Williams (Gordon), father Asa B Williams; sister, Linda J (Williams) Peterson; infant nephew, Todd Michael Peterson; two brothers Douglas Williams and Thomas Williams; a stepson, and her most special furbaby, her Beagle Maggie, along with several other beloved pets.

She graduated from MATC in 1998 from the administrative program. She went on to work at The Inn At North Hills as a medical receptionist for many years. Thanks to the hard work of her wonderful husband, she was able to enjoy the last 15 years being a homemaker. They enjoyed taking day trips to Marietta and being outdoors when able. Marsha was very close to her children and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved her pets who were very important to her.

Cremation has been chosen. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 11am until 12pm, with services starting at 12pm at Burrell funeral services in Zanesville. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.

In addition to his parents, Russell is also proceeded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Bagley, Orville Bagley Jr., Clifford, Bagley, David, Bagley, Chester, Bagley, Howard, Bagley, and Robert Bagley; sisters, Laura, Wisecarver, Goldie, Paxton, and Dorothy McWhorter; stepdaughter’s, Betty Atkins, and Virginia Smith and stepson, Harold Spears.

Russell leaves the cherish his memory, his wife, Patricia Bagley; his children, Michelle Bagley, Tina Bagley, Russell Bagley Jr. and Jay Bagley; stepchildren, Delmar Spears, Rose Bryan, and Terry Spears; several grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Daisy (Randy Swartz) Spears; siblings, Venelia Tracey, Katherine (Jerry) Leonard and Kenneth Bagley; a special pet dog, Baby; as well as several other friends and family.

Russell worked for many years at Mickey’s, where he enjoyed what he did. He also like to play the guitar and sing. Russell also was known by many for scrapping in his hometown. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Marvin Foster Fisher, 88, of East Fultonham, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Marvin was born on February 1, 1937, to Foster and Roella Fisher. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Pamela Fisher; children, Peggy (Keith) Elam, Megan (Larry) Lynn and Mary (Drew) Glass; grandchildren, Kaya, Bo, Allysun and Bladyn; great grandchildren, Alanah and Benjamin Tate; several siblings - Marvin was the oldest of 13; as well as several other friends and family.

Marvin was a veteran of the United States Navy and a CB, which stands for Construction Battalion, the official name for the famous Seabees, who are the U.S. Navy's expert builders, engineers, and mechanics for constructing, maintaining, and repairing infrastructure in support of naval forces and global operations. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing baseball in his younger days. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Patty Joanne (Kirkbride) Goldsmith, 78, of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Patty was born on April 23, 1947, to Mary and Russell Kirkbride. In addition to her parents, Patty is also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Goldsmith; daughter, Ronda Goldsmith; sister, Barb Vetula; brothers, Johnny, Jimmy, Kevin, Donald and Ronnie Kirkbride.

Patty leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Brenda Goldsmith; grandsons, Tyler (Darcie) Ransom, Todd Ransom, Jordan Ransom and Christian Rieder; granddaughters, Megan Hye, Morgan (Richard) Patterson and Miranda (William) Rieder; 15 great grandchildren; as well as many other close friends and family members.

Patty retired from Lear Corporation after many years of dedicated work. She loved Bruno Mars, going bowling, slot machines, playing cards and sitting on the deck to watch her grandchildren play. Patty's favorite places to get a nice meal were KFC and Texas Roadhouse. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Debra Kay Wade of Zanesville, born February 19, 1960, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 1, 2026. Debra was preceded in death by her husband James Wade, her parents, Robert and Mary (Dingey) Swingle, sisters Kathryn White, Nancy Tolbert, Beulah Garrett, Bernice Gifford, brother Robert Gale Swingle, and her two daughters, Robin and Diane Wade.

Debra is survived by her son James Allen Wade, three grandchildren James Alexander Wade, Owen Wade, and Michael Curtis, her sisters, Lynda (Tim) Raines, Sandra Lightfoot, Vickie Angler, Carol Starcher, and her brothers, Paul (Ilene) Swingle, Charles (Peggy) Swingle, and George (Christal) Swingle, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Debra lived a simple and peaceful life. She was a member of Trulight Ministries whom she considered family. Debra also enjoyed volunteering in her community over the years.

Debra’s memorial service will be held on January 9th, 2pm, at Trulight Ministries on Putnam Avenue. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.

Diana Lynn Chapman, 66, of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Diana was born on July 13, 1959, to Eva Mae Hardy and William Henry Kerr. In addition to her parents, Diana is also preceded in death by her baby sister, Judy Miller; older brothers, Larry Eugene Kerr and Jack Ray Kerr; aunts and uncles, Dolly (Jim) Holly, Gustie (Nick) Cobb as well as several more aunts, uncles and cousins and niece, Donna Kay Kerr.

Diana leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Kenneth Chapman; daughter, Crystal Chapman; two sons, Michael Kerr and Tony Chapman; two sisters, Cora Richards and Patricia Roe; brother, William Edward Kerr; nieces, Dawn Rae Kerr and Stephanie Manyard; nephew, Franklin Kerr; special family, Stacy and Curt Ditto, Patty and Brian Madinger, Randa Grodell, Wendy Davidson and her very best friend in Michigan, Benda and Tony Nimeth; granddaughter, Nicole Chapman and several other grandchildren.

Diana loved her family the most and spending time with them. She also enjoyed rescuing cats and all animals. She loved arts and crafts. Diana worked hard for over 30 years to support her family. She loved to watch hummingbirds sit in the sun and take trips, enjoying life. In 2013 Diana beat stage 2 a**l cancer and in 2024 she was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, sadly it progressed into stage 4 where she battled for one and a half years until it unfortunately spread all throughout her body and to her brain. Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not. She is flying high with the angels. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten. We would like to thank Interim Hospice for their excellent care and services.
