Pay is based on experience.
- Design projects and schedule jobs as needed.
- Provide guidance and ensure sound procedures and the effective use of facilities.
- Initiates customer estimates and quotations based upon customer direction in a timely fashion.
- Initiates new orders and creates work orders, routers and job travelers for new orders.
- Responsible for all aspects of orders. Including, but not limited to Final QC, OTD and budget.
- Initiate cost reduction proposals from other sources, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action, and checks on results obtained.
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. It will be required to take into consideration all relevant factors in the plan such as materials, labor, and operations (cutting, fabrication, machining, and other processes) and to ensure products and systems conform to customer specifications.
- Present a prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Daily responsibilities will consist of performing routine engineering work.
- Lay out complete products and prepare assembly and detail drawings using SolidWorks, following the general instructions and directions of a designer.
- Coordinate cutting, fabrication, machining, and other processes to ensure products and systems conform to customer specifications.
- Initiates material needs lists for material orders on new orders.
- It requires a very pro-active approach to communication with all that may be involved including (but not limited to): fellow associates, customers, sales, engineering, vendors, and manufacturing.
- Coordinate activities of engineering department to design, develop, produce, and improve, components, products, systems, and services.
- Provides planning, direction, and coordination for all technical activities while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, and improve production techniques.
- Recommends and implements new policies and procedures as directed.
- Ensure compliance of company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects.
- Conduct employee performance reviews if overseeing staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
