This week our community gathered for the closing ceremonies of the Frederick Living Winter Olympics. Residents and team members competed in 25 events including corn hole, shuffleboard, hatchet throwing, knitting, crafting, bicycling, photography and more!
Winners received gold medals in a ceremony that featured entertainment, jokes and milestone moments.

The entire Olympic program was designed to foster team member and resident interaction in recreational competition. Residents in all levels of care participated and received medals and many committed to practicing for the next round of competition as they seek that gold!

We were honored today to support Ursinus College and invest in the next generation of talent. For two days we welcomed a group of students to the Frederick Living campus to shadow, learn, and collaborate with our team as part of ’ inaugural Experiential Learning Week.

Collaborations like this reflect Garden Spot Communities commitment to inter-generational learning. The students toured campus in our FredEx electric jittney, experienced daily activities in the Body Shop, and enjoyed social activities with residents in personal care.

This special group of retired nurses is finding connection and purpose in community during their regular meetings. Earlier this week the Frederick Living residents met for a breakfast gathering where they shared stories from their careers in the nursing field. They are currently working on compiling a notebook highlighting each member, their education and selected photographs.

The Upper Perkiomen Valley High School Uptones have it right - the Christmas season is here! The group performed here today for the annual Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce Christmas breakfast. The group of young musicians stayed on for a second performance, thrilling residents and setting the mood for the holiday season.

You can catch the holiday spirit as well, when you attend our Christmas Village and Artisan Market, this Saturday, Dec. 6th from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be cookie decorating, crafts, hot cocoa and Santa for the kids and a craft fair for everyone. We can't wait to see you there.

Today's Veteran's Day program honored the many veterans in the Frederick Living community who served our country. State Representative Donna Scheuren provided citations of recognition to the 53 veterans who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard and the Coast Guard. Nine veterans who passed away during 2025 were also remembered.

A collection of photos and memorabilia is on display this week near the Oaktree Center Bistro.

Thank you to all the veterans who have faithfully served our country!
