The FIP Council ratified the re-election of Luís Lourenço (Portugal) to serve another term as FIP professional secretary yesterday.

In addition, the council elected Nadia Al Mazrouei, (UAE) as a FIP vice president. The Council Meeting is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The FIP Copenhagen Declaration on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) was signed today during the plenary session “Acting together for One Health: Strengthening global collaboration to combat AMR” at the FIP world congress in Denmark: https://www.fip.org/file/6345. This call to action was co-signed by FIP president Paul Sinclair, Stine Hasling Mogensen, Chairman of Pharmadanmark; and Jesper Gulev Larsen, president of the Association of Danish Pharmacies. The declaration outlines clear priorities to address antimicrobial resistance, including global partnership building, promoting vaccination and rational antimicrobial use, protecting medicine supply chains, and advancing evidence on stewardship and outcomes. It reaffirms the vital role of pharmacists in safeguarding the effectiveness of antimicrobials and strengthening health systems against this critical global threat. Fifteen pharmacy professionals from 12 countries were recognised with global awards from FIP today.

• Eeva Teräsalmi (Finland) has been awarded the André Bédat Award

• FIP Distinguished Service Award was given to Claire Anderson (UK)

• Dr Ranjita Shegokar (Germany) was recognised for her contributions to the field of pharmaceutical science with a FIP Distinguished Pharmaceutical Sciences Award.

• FIP Early Career in Pharmaceutical Education Recognition Award went to Dr Parveen Devanandan (India).

Twelve new FIP Fellowships for 2025 were announced as follows:
