The Committee on Rules & Judiciary of the USVI Legislature is scheduled to meet TOMORROW at 10AM. Though the agenda has not yet been released, it is anticipated that they will be voting on whether to move Bill 36-0105 forward for a final vote by the full Senate body.

If passed, this bill would:
❌ Ban THCa — a natural cannabinoid in every cannabis plant (including dispensary cannabis)
❌ Contradict the Cannabis Use Act, creating double standards
❌ Punish compliant, tax-paying businesses while unlicensed sellers thrive
❌ Ignore the fact that youth ingestion cases were tied to locally made edibles, not h**p products

👉 We need smart regulation, not prohibition.
✔ Age 21+ restrictions
✔ Child-resistant packaging
✔ Third-party testing & QR code transparency
✔ Ban only truly synthetic cannabinoids (like THC-O)
✔ Modest h**p business fees to fund enforcement & education
