The Psychological Association of the Philippines โ Southern Mindanao Regional Chapter (PAP SMRC) conducted a Psychological First Aid (PFA) session for the dedicated workers of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Davao City.
Participants included those who bravely responded to the recent fire incidents in Barangays 21 and 23, as well as day care workers who continue to care for the cityโs young learners. The PFA session aimed to provide a space for rest, reflection, and recovery after weeks of deployment to fire-stricken areas, alongside the challenges brought by the recent earthquakes in Mindanao.
The sessions were facilitated by psychologists, psychometricians, and guidance counselors, divided into morning and afternoon groups, with a volunteer debriefing held afterward to ensure the well-being of the team.
This initiative also opened doors for future partnerships with CSWDO to further strengthen mental health and psychosocial support for our cityโs frontliners and community workers.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Gina Molon for the opportunity and warm welcome, and to Dr. Maria Isabel Lemen for graciously facilitating this meaningful activity. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our volunteers for their time, compassion, and steadfast dedication to caring for those who care for others. Your presence and kindness truly made a difference.
