🏓My husband and I started playing table tennis every day.

❎No big fitness goal.
❎No structured program.
✅Just 15–20 minutes of play.

💙Here’s what we noticed💙
• Better mood (almost instantly)
• Improved energy
• Less stress at the end of the day
• More connection with each other

From a physio perspective, table tennis supports:
✔️ Coordination & reaction time
✔️ Joint mobility
✔️ Gentle cardiovascular fitness
✔️ Balance
✔️ Nervous system regulation

‼️But the biggest shift? It didn’t feel like “exercise.”✅

And that matters — especially for those navigating chronic illness, fatigue, or autoimmune conditions.

💪🏽Movement doesn’t always need to be intense to be effective!

😛Sometimes it just needs to be consistent and enjoyable.

One of the most harmful beliefs about pain is,
Pain = harm🚨

However this is not the case 🙅🏽‍♀️

With autoimmune conditions, pain is complex 😵‍💫

That’s exactly why generic exercise programs and advice for pain management fails 😔

Undestaning why you hurt, can change the way you move, heal and recover 🙌🏽❤️‍🩹

This can only be achieved through individualized programming and personalized sessions 🔐

Does exercise flare up your symptoms?

Most mums join a “Mums & Bubs” class after birth… but I didn’t know where I fit in with postnatal care.

After weeks of reflection and asking myself, “What advice would I give my friends or clients in this situation?” — I realised it was time to get help.

Grief blurred my postpartum experience… and even as a physio, asking for support was hard.

Showing up today was a step forward in my healing journey ❤️‍🩹

2025 was a massive year for me physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

I learned to take one day at a time and walk with faith even through the unknown. I learned so much about myself and what my body is capable of doing.

I would choose it all over again just to hold my Vinnie in my arms! I have a huge journey ahead of me as I work on accepting what happened, acknowledging that this experience has changed me and building myself up again for 2026!

This year my goal is to share my journey of becoming a mum, grieving and still caring for my postpartum self and showing up for my husband, my family, my clients the wider community and myself!

Follow along on my journey as I slowly start to pick up the pieces and make sense of the world again.

Normally, every September I take part in the Live Fearless Challenge for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, but this year I’m on a different kind of journey—growing our little miracle. ✨

I’m currently 6 months pregnant and it’s been a high risk pregnancy. I’m choosing to keep most of the details private, and while I’d love to be out walking and fundraising, my focus right now has to be on resting, protecting this baby and taking one day at a time.

Even though I can’t take part in the challenge this year, my heart is still with the IBD community and all the warriors fundraising. 💜

May 19 World IBD DAY! 💜

I can hardly believe it’s been 8 years since my diagnosis.

Most days I forget how hard the early stages of my diagnosis were.

I forget that I lay in a hospital bed for a week, when doctors contemplated removing my bowel.

I forget the days I couldn’t work or go to university and placement because I was running to the toilet 17 times a day pooping blood.

I forget what it’s like to go out to a restaurant and order food without having to look at the ingredients.

I forget what a cold glass of beer tastes like.

But I also remember that making small changes in my diet and lifestyle has helped keep me out of the hospital for 3 years.

I appreciate how clear my mind is now that I am not struggling with chronic fatigue all the time.

Even though most days I hardly remember how hard things were. I am grateful for all that this diagnosis has taught me.

It hasn’t been easy to get to where I am today but I am so grateful for my mum who did hours of research to help me get to where I am today. To my GP and my gastroenterologist who listen to me and allow me to try new things and advocate for myself. And to my husband who helps me stay away from foods and temptations that cause my flare ups!

💜 I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease in 2017.

💔I live in constant fear of a flare up and the possibility of losing my bowel.

🙌🏽 One thing I’ve learned from this condition is that it looks different on everyone and each person I’ve met with IBD is remarkably resilient in their battle with this condition.

🤗If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with IBD, know that it may look different at various stages of your life, but one thing is that you have to constantly remind yourself to stay in the present moment and try not to get distracted by what could happen next.

🧘🏽‍♀️I focus on all the things I am able to do, instead of worrying about the things I can no longer do! Having gratitude for my life has allowed me to accept all that this condition brings and live my life to the fullest!

May is Cronh’s and Colitis awareness month, and I’m a proud IBD warrior. 💜

❤️‍🩹 I have learned to embrace the journey and what this illness brings to my life.

💪🏽 By sharing my story every May, I feel a new sense of empowerment on my Health journey!

💜 I have met so many people across the globe in a similar situation as me and feel a part of the IBD community

✅ I am proud of myself for pushing through days where I felt miserable and fatigued.

🙏🏽 I’m honored and blessed with the amount of love and support I have received on my journey! Without the support I would have given up!
