Though situations teach us when to fight, what is worth fighting for, to learn when to let go, and when to hold on. It reaches us where our ego limits us and the wounds that are still there to work through.

Whilst there are so many things in life we don't deserve to go through, there are always different angels to look through in the same situation.

Hello, I'm Stine - the founder of New Pathways by Stine Rindstad.

I'm passionate about emotional health, personal growth and development. My own challenging life path and overcoming anxiety, depression, and trauma bring a wealth of embodied wisdom, insight, and tools that I use to guide my clients through their journeys.

I'm a certified Meditation Teacher (200hr CMT), Life Coach, and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programing) and Reiki Practitioner (Level 2). I also completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Public Health) at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), where I focused on mindfulness, mental health, childhood development, chronic illness, and trauma.

I use a range of approaches and techniques tailored to your personal needs in the format of online 1:1 mentoring and through classes and workshops.

Some focus areas include:
- Getting clear on dreams, goals, and direction in life
- Working through blocks that are holding you back from reaching your goals
- Emotion regulation tools and techniques
- Guidance towards creating a safe space within yourself
- Meditation and mindfulness

Mirror mindfulness is a great way to build self compassion, self acceptance and self love.

Eye gaze yourself in the mirror for 5-10 minutes whilst being fully in the present. The point of focus is on the eyes.

If (or rather: when) sensations, thoughts and emotions arise, explore them in a curious way without judgement. Don't cling to what feels good or push away what feels uncomfortable. Give equal importance to everything (nothing is good or bad).

It's normal for the mind to wander. It's more important to bring the focus back again and again than to have a 'perfect' session without distractions.

The distractions tend to give us insight to that need our attention or awareness (unless it's about things we need to do or what we are having for dinner - regardless, don't judge them). It can be good to write down what comes up. With time we can start seeing a habit pattern and get to know ourselves better.

It's more about HOW we deal with the distractions rather than having that 'perfect' focus.

Be compassionate and gentle with yourself in the process.

🤐Will be offline for the next 12 days while I attend the Vipassana Silent Meditation retreat🔇

It will be a big opportunity for growth, introspection and building resilience. 12 days of no talking, no internet/phone, no music, no exercise, no TV, no reading, no writing, or anything else that takes the mind away from myself. 11 hours of meditation per day.

I'm both excited and nervous. I know it will be challenging, but my biggest focus is self growth so I go in with an open mind and heart to receive the teachings and practice fully. I'm sure I'll share a bit about my experience after.

For some background, for those who've never heard of Vipassana; Vipassana is one of India's most ancient meditation techniques. Long lost to humanity, it was rediscovered by Gotama the Buddha more than 2500 years ago. The word Vipassana means seeing things as they really are. It is the process of self- purification by self-observation. One begins by observing the natural breath to concentrate the mind. With a sharpened awareness one proceeds to observe the changing nature of body and mind and experiences the universal truths of impermanence, suffering and egolessness.

Since mindfulness is a practice where one learns to be fully conscious and aware, it can help us to finally overcome our bad habits. Being truly aware of ourselves, our feelings, and our impulses gives us a stronger foundation when trying to fight bad habits and create healthy ones.

🐘 In the beginning, meditation can look like taming a wild elephant.

Initially the newly captured animal would be tied to a post with a good strong rope. When you do this, the elephant is not happy. He screams and tramples, and pulls against the rope for days (this is much like the ego). Finally it sinks in that he can’t get away, and he settles down.

At this point you can begin to feed him and to handle him with some measure of safety. Eventually you can dispense of the rope and post altogether, and train your elephant for various tasks. Now you have got a tamed elephant that can be put to useful work.

Our mind works in a similar way (also commonly referred to as monkey mind).

Training our mind through meditation puts us in charge of our life instead of being a passenger, being controlled by our mind and ego✨

So, what if, instead of thinking about solving your whole life, you just think about adding additional good things. One at a time. Just let your pile of good things grow. ~Rainbow Rowell~

Emotions are like messengers; they show up to give us a message so we can adjust, learn and apply these to improve our relationships with ourselves and others. They are there to help us survive in the world and live optimally.

Oftentimes, we can get overwhelmed and feel like pushing away the unpleasant emotions (anxiety, grief, shame, sadness, jealousy, anger) and cling on to the pleasant ones (joy, love, happiness, peace). This means we don’t get the message and take on the learnings that they are there to teach.

Every emotion is valid and it's part of the human experience to feel the full range, not just the pleasant ones. However, people have been conditioned to think some emotions are wrong (like being angry or anxious) which can make us feel even worse. If we feel guilty/shame for feeling angry, or like there is something wrong with us for feeling anxious, it results in an even lower emotional state - a quick downward spiral.

No emotion is wrong - it's the actions/reactions in response that matter.

When we suppress our emotions, it means we don't process or release the energy they carry (as you may remember from physics; energy cannot be created or destroyed - only transferred from one form to another). Over time this can result in physical or emotional issues, like pain, fatigue, injury, illness, and insomnia to name a few. The neck, shoulders, and hips/lower back are common areas where we store trapped emotional energy. That's why it's not uncommon for people to feel discomfort/emotional when doing certain hip-opening yoga poses, or when receiving a massage.

Reiki can help release stored energy blockages to allow your body to return to a state of relaxation, which can help it heal from damage brought on by stress, trauma, injury, or disease.

Video 1 of 2 about anxiety

Many people go through anxiety but it's not something we have been taught much about in life. Often one can feel quite alone in one's experience of it, but it's more common than you would think.

1 in 5 people will experience anxiety at some point in life.

I'm sharing this video to de-mystify it, so it's no longer that unknown scary monster. The first step in recovery is learning to understand it and improving our relationship with it.
