Did You Know? Many women who thought they were just experiencing burnout, stress, or "normal aging" are actually discovering they've had ADHD all along.

Recent research shows a fascinating trend: more women than ever are being diagnosed with ADHD in their 30s, 40s, and 50s!
Here's what you should know:

Hormones Matter: Estrogen levels affect dopamine in the brain, which plays a key role in ADHD. During perimenopause, when estrogen drops, many women notice their ADHD symptoms become more pronounced.

Different Symptoms: Women often present with inattentive-type ADHD (daydreaming, forgetfulness, difficulty focusing) rather than the hyperactive type more commonly seen in men.

👋 A message from your Wembley pharmacist. Apart from our internet issues with EastLink and phone lines not working this morning, I wanted to talk to you about some changes that could affect the healthcare you receive right here in our community.

Your pharmacist does more than fill prescriptions. We're your frontline healthcare providers - we assess your health concerns, order your labs for follow-up, Dx and Tx strep, UTI or other conditions, prescribe medications, give vaccines, and help manage chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and more. We keep you HEALTHY, BRIDGE the gap of care, PREVENT unnecessary ER visits, and your PHARMACIST is here when you can't get to a Doctor.

For many of us in Wembley and surrounding area, the Wembley Pharmacy is often the most accessible point of care.

But here's what's happening:
• The government has capped pharmacy budgets, forcing cuts to services (even though pharmacy care is ONLY 2.5% of Alberta's health budget!)
• Seniors' prescription co-pays have increased by 40% - making medications harder to afford
• Support for the chronic care management, follow-up care I provide has been reduced
• COVID-19 vaccines have been removed from community pharmacies like ours, affecting over 270 communities across Alberta

What this means for YOU in Wembley:
• Our seniors may have to skip medications they can't afford, Our Seniors Matter
• People managing diabetes, heart conditions, COPD, Heart Failure etc. may lose important follow-up care
• You might lose local access to vaccines and health services
• More people may end up making that drive to Grande Prairie or Beaverlodge Emergency Department for things I could help with right here

✅ Update pharmacy funding to meet today's healthcare needs
✅ Keep medications affordable for seniors
✅ Bring COVID vaccines back to community pharmacies
