School camp drop-off ✅

Miss 11 climbed onto that bus all excited and independent… and within seconds of it pulling away, her brothers were already saying they missed her.

And me?
My heart is sitting somewhere between relief and heartache.

Relief because:
✨ one less kid to wrangle for three whole days (less noise, less pressure, more breathing room).

Heartache because:
💔 my eldest baby is being driven away on a bus and I don’t get to hover, check in, or remind her to drink water every 7 minutes.

Motherhood is this wild contradiction — cheering them on as they spread their wings and build resilience, while quietly wanting to wrap them in bubble wrap and keep them close forever.

Letting go… even just a little… is such a big thing.

Here’s to three days of growth (for her), and emotional regulation (for me). 🥲🫶

Why is it that the universe waits until hubby is away for work before pressing the “let’s test her resilience” button?

Today’s adventure: flat car battery.
Like… could this not happen on literally any other day?

I’m already juggling:
• 100% kid duties
• 100% house duties
• AND a 4am school camp drop-off tomorrow

So instead of charging the battery and saving money, I get to fork out for a brand new one because apparently motherhood doesn’t come with a pause button or 12 spare hours. 😅
Thank goodness for roadside assist because I am not adding “auto electrician” to my resume today!
I’ve reached my quota of character-building tasks for the week. 🤦‍♀️🔋

To summarise:
Hubby goes to work → chaos moves in 🫠

Mums should come with a warning:
Runs on caffeine, sarcasm, and the ability to handle emergency situations she did not sign up for.
