Vax The Illawarra

is a campaign to make the Illawarra and the Shoalhaven Australia’s first region to be 80% fully vaccinated.

Vaccination is our only way to end COVID restrictions and uncertainty. The 80% Illawarra () page serves as a positive and safe place where members of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven community can access news, information, and videos of support from local legends in our quest to get the region to 80% full vaccination. Our community guidelines aim to ensure that our page is inclusive and inviting for everyone. We want to encourage positive communication and sharing. Community Moderation Policy:

Thrilled to announce that has been named a finalist in Community Group of the Year in this year’s City of Wollongong Australia Day Awards 🥂🙌

The aim of was always to keep our region safe and reunite our community after a difficult few years. We feel honoured & grateful to have this recognised.

The awards will be run via Livestream, which you can watch from 11.30am tomorrow 25, January via the link below. Wish us luck!

Already fully vaxxed? Why not set a reminder for when you'll be eligible for your booster shot. Anyone over 18 years of age can have their booster shot 6 months after their 2nd dose.

BOOSTER ELIGIBILITY:
💉 18 years and older, and
💉 have had your second dose of your primary dose course of COVID-19 vaccination at least 6 months ago.

THIRD DOSE ELIGIBILITY:
💉 Severely immunocompromised

Severely immunocompromised people (as defined by ATAGI) are those receiving active treatment for cancer (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and/or hormonal therapy), malignant blood cancers, organ failure, advanced or untreated HIV, or those on immunosuppressive or biologic therapies. The full definition list can be found via the Australian Government Department of Health website.

We appreciate everybody's support towards 💜 Together, we can continue vaxxing the Illawarra by booking in for our Third Doses (for severely immunocompromised individuals), or for a booster (for those fully vaxxed).

💉THIRD DOSE:
Appointments are preferred and can be made by calling the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Booking Team on 1300 096 365 during business hours, or online via the ISLHD COVID-19 Vaccination Support form. Due to the strict eligibility criteria, appointments will not be available via the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder at this time. People receiving a third vaccination dose will be required to sign a declaration form confirming their health status.

💉BOOSTERS:
Fully vaccinated people aged 18 years and over, who received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine 6 months or more ago, are eligible for a booster vaccination. You can visit vaxtheillawarra.com.au to find out where you can book your booster appointment.

Don't forget you can now share your COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate with the Service NSW app! Make your check-in a one-stop-shop today 👍

1️⃣ Make sure your Service NSW app is up to date, via the App Store
2️⃣ Log into Medicare, either through MyGov or the Medicare app
3️⃣ Click through to your Immunisation history
4️⃣ Select the icon that says ‘share with check-in app’
5️⃣ You’ll be taken to the Service NSW App - simply follow the instructions and your digital certificate will be stored with your digital licenses. It will also show up with your QR check-ins.
