The stomach — a J-shaped organ tucked just below the diaphragm on the left side — plays a huge role in our digestive system. It usually measures around 15 cm wide and 30 cm long, and although size varies from person to person (and before/after meals!), it can hold up to 1 litre of food.

In reflexology, the stomach reflex is located between the diaphragm line and the waistline on both feet (and the hands) — as shown in the image.

Sometimes this reflex area may feel tender or out of balance. This can be linked to current or past digestive tension, or even lifestyle factors such as alcohol irritation or the effects of certain medications.

And it’s not just physical influences — the stomach is highly responsive to emotions too. Think of the butterflies you feel during stress, or those situations that are quite literally “hard to stomach.”

Reflexology helps support relaxation and encourages balance throughout the digestive system, both emotionally and physically.

Fingerprints, tree rings, and footprints, they’re all shaped by the same natural forces: growth, pressure, and patterns that form over time.

Fingerprints form through biological pattern formation — tiny swirls shaped by growth and pressure before we’re even born. Tree rings are records of life, marking each season the tree has lived through and the patterns on our feet reflect how we stand, move, and carry life each day.

Reflexology works with these natural patterns on the feet via sensory pathways:

Pressure on the feet activates nerve endings, Nerves speak to the brain, the brain shifts into a calmer, more balanced and natural state.

Simple biology.
Deeply grounding.

Which is why working on the feet can influence how the whole body feels.

Keeping your feet warm is a small habit with big benefits. Warm feet help your blood vessels relax, improving circulation and calming your nervous system — which makes it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. Warmth also reduces tension, supports your immune system, and prevents your body from going into “cold stress” mode. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, warm feet reflect strong Kidney Yang and healthy Qi flow — both of which are considered important for reproductive health and fertility. Plus, your feet are incredibly sensitive, containing thousands of nerve endings, making them a powerful sensory and energetic gateway – especially through Reflexology.

Are your own feet hot or cold?

Tension released, circulation restored, emotions calmed, energy back in balance.

Reflexology is deeply restorative and supports both the mind and the body. It feels as it looks I promise.

"When you're depleted, you can't choose your response to stress. When you're rested, there's a beat between trigger & reaction. A beat. A breath. A chance to choose."

How can I help support you?

Reflexology activates the brain for physical, mental and emotional health. Every reflexology session sends messages through your nervous system to your brain. Reflexology isn't just relaxation; it is your brain and body working together for better health and balance.

‘I knew I would cry when I got here’
‘I’m so sorry, I don’t know why I’m crying’

People often have a few tears with me at a Reflexology session and I encourage it if they come!

Crying is also a good thing and I know why the tears just come. It is because you are in a safe space, with time just for you, dedicated to you, for you and I don't require anything of you. Doesn’t happen very often does it!

Sometimes just the phrase “…and how are you?” can make you feel abit wobbly! Especially from someone that you don’t have to pretend with.

Crying is a natural human reaction to a whole range of emotions - some of which you don’t even know are happening – but let me reassure you that there are benefits to tears! It is actually self soothing and helps you to calm down! They relieve pain which can be physical or emotional and release oxytocin and endorphins! They burst the stress bubble and can even aid sleep and of course they bring support from other people.

Reflexology can intensify your emotional outlet but these are all perfectly normal, will settle and will pass and are better out than in! Tissues always at the ready, never ever feel embarrassed or sorry.....
