The Day of Rest and Restoration

The Bridge Between Earth and Sky: Moon Wisdom for Growth

The Moon reminds us that life moves in cycles.

Tides rise and fall. Seeds germinate and rest. Energy expands and then returns inward.

While in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Colombia, the Mamos and Zagas shared teachings about the relationship between the Moon, the Earth, and humanity.

They are spiritual elders who carry ancient knowledge of how to live in balance with the natural world.

They explain that humans can become a bridge ~ between Earth and Sky.

Before planting seeds or beginning something new, we first clear our own inner channel.

Father Sun: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Healing

The Sun is more than light in the sky. It is a living source of life force.

During time spent in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Colombia, I received teachings about the Sun from the Mamos and Zagas ~ spiritual elders who care for the balance of the Earth and who are often described as Elders of the World.

They teach that the Sun is not simply a star we observe. It is a living presence that sustains life and responds to the harmony of humanity.

Every day the Sun gives energy freely to the Earth ~ warming the soil, feeding the plants, and sustaining every living being.

One simple way they shared for connecting with the Sun is to stand facing it and bring awareness to the heart and the third eye. Allow the warmth of the sunlight to move through the body and into the places that need healing or strength.

The Sun does not judge us, but it does feel us.

The Mamos say that Father Sun becomes sad when humans live in conflict and disharmony.

Harmony within ourselves is not only personal ~ it helps restore balance in the greater field of life.

When we receive the Sun's energy with gratitude, we remember our place within the living rhythms of the Earth.

The Sun is always shining.

Sometimes we only need to remember how to receive it.
