Today on International Mens’s Day, we celebrate men who bring care, calm and connection into the lives of our children, families, schools & communities 💙

A healthy world thrives on a balance of energy. Men and women bring different strengths that are needed. When both energies are valued and expressed, communities flourish, relationships deepen and everyone’s well-being is supported 💙

The nurturing presence of Men models positive relationships and shows that kindness is a strength. Supporting and funding men’s mental & emotional health is crucial and begins in Preschool and school. We all need a safe space to express and understand our feelings 💙

The photo in this post shows my three when they were small and waiting up for Dad to read the bedtime stories (one book was never enough😜) These connections are memories held forever 💙

Supporting our Well-being

I have always found our emotions fascinating and how they can have such an impact on your physical health. Our emotions can help us to have positive or negative interactions with our friends and family. Over my many years as a primary teacher and in my role as a Sensory Integration teacher in the Early Focus Project in Dublin 8 I have realized and learnt how children need to and want to learn about their feelings. Children enjoy being active and curious but they also enjoy being quiet and calm in the right environment. I have used my experience as a Primary teacher, Mother of three, SNA and carer of Special needs child to put together a Well-being program that teaches children how to understand their physical and emotional health.

It is only with the right supports that we can all find our wings and become who we are meant to be. We will all go through trauma and tough times during our life but with the right support team around us our toughest times can sometimes become our greatest teacher and healer. If we can give our children the knowledge of how to understand and support their own emotional health I firmly believe that they will all find their wings and be truly happy.

What supports do I offer ?


  • Mindfulness & Well-being lessons for whole class and small groups in schools or Pre-schools. These lessons can include a selection of Mindfulness, Brain Gym, Primary movements, yoga, Emotional literacy, Story massage and relaxation.
