Do you want to own your life, your body, your mind, and your spirit?? Let my story inspire you to change your perspective on your worth and set yourself free.
I spent years chasing an image, thinking the looks and the performance would make me feel good enough. Failing to realise the root of an insecurity had nothing to do with how I objectively looked or performed in life. Through a binge eating disorder, body dysmorphia and a ugly contrast of how I put myself out to the world vs how I felt inside, I snapped and knew something had to change. It has been a long journey of 6+ years. But through learning the true benefits of exercise, the psychology of the human mind, the importance of vulnerability and a hunger to live a life of true value inside and out, I have come to a place in my life where I have liberation from the harsh performance based views of society and I have peace of mind in my ability to grow as a human and help others find their true sense of self worth.

With all this in mind I still have the healthy body and mind I know most people desire, but it’s just the by product, it is not what brings me my sense of joy and I know it will not be the answer to your problems.

How does your training making you feel in everyday life? Imagine for a second you’re an athlete and life was your sport. Now Think about how your training impacts your performance in life. Does it make it easier and less painful, or does it cause aches/pain. Can you physically achieve everything you need or does it limit you. If you’re the later and you find yourself stopping a task because it hurts or not being able to relax pain free on a couch, you seriously need to reconsider how you train.

A shift in mindset towards training for quality of life will unleash a new version of yourself that not only feels better but will naturally start to look better too!

1️⃣Start by stripping the weight and learning how to perform each exercise correctly and for the benefit of movement not load or reps.

2️⃣Use a coach to help identify your weak points that need strengthening/mobilising and prioritising the muscles that need the most attention

3️⃣shift your attention to the benefits outside of the gym and the mirror. Using quality of life as a metric for success takes time but the more you focus on it, the more you can shift your attention away from shallow validation like looks and how heavy or hard out you can lift.

4️⃣follow fitness accounts that share content that is helpful and focused on your benefit, not about there there abs or b***y. Unfollow strangers that don’t bring value to your journey and fitness influencers who focus on their own image.

I have placed myself at Te puke health and fitness. I am in my home, the place where I first discovered the benefits of exercise. You want to eat healthier, maybe loose some weight? The secret lies within 10000’s of decisions, not one perfect diet. If you can make one healthy choice, your on your way. the questions you ask yourself before each choice will determine your success. This is where you aim to make progress. Will this make me feel better? Does this food serve my goal? Does a healthy person drive to McDonalds when there’s food at home? Does my grocery list serve my goals? Do I have enough healthy food in my pantry to stop me going out for takeaways? How can I eat healthier tomorrow? How can I get back on track while still loving myself? Has this one bad meal really ruined my chances of getting in shape? Why do I feel bad and how can I make a better choice next time? The more you ask yourself, the more likely you’ll make good decisions, the more good decisions, the better the results and the easier it is to make more good decisions. Start with one good choice, then two then three. If the good choices go up each week over time I can guarantee you will reach your ultimate health goal.

Ever struggle with motivation? Do you feel like if you had the momentum you would smash it at life?
Studies show the most effective form of motivation is progression. So want more motivation, start finding ways to progress in ANY aspect in your life. That’s the key, not finding the perfect set of goals and aspirations. Who cares what it is. If you see something you could do better, do it. It’s better to do something simple so you can move onto the next win and the next win! When we do this we are already winning in our day when we come across critical moments in our life’s when winning truly matters. Start making your bed, or taking one piece of rubbish out if your car each time you leave it, or put your dirty clothes straight in the laundry basket etc. our days are full of potential wins just itching to be accomplished.
It’s either that or by default we ignore these things and beat our faith in ourselves down little by little until that moment when we need to win and our day has been lose after lose. Start small and win often, you will be amazed with how easy everything else will become when you have countless evidence of your ability to show up for yourself!

Caring for our bodies requires not only seeking beauty in what others see. Just like weeds in the garden, we must manage our bodies with grace and understanding of what problem may be lying within. Finding the root of each problem may be hard to begin but once we do, the easier it is to manage in the future!

Hey, my name is Jono Crawford. I spent a huge chunk of my life in and out of injuries trying to bounce back to the next fitness goal of mine. Often ignoring the lingering aches in my body. Throughout my experience I have learnt that training hard and wanting something gets you nowhere without intention. Every step in personal development should have a purpose & The more each step serves the less you have to do. I have spent the last 4 years fine tuning my skills in trouble shooting the human body and finding the most efficient way to improve quality of life.
