I know it's anxiety, but what if it's something else?"

Sound familiar?

This is called the "Yes, But" loop... and if you're stuck in it, your brain is searching for a level of certainty that doesn't exist.

The hard truth: No one can give you 100% certainty. Not doctors, not coaches, not reassurance from others.

Real confidence comes from within. It comes from:

✨ Recognizing the "Yes, But" as just another "what if"
✨ Pushing through the doubt even when it feels real
✨ Feeling it yourself, over and over, until you prove to your nervous system that you're safe
You have to take control. And yes... that's uncomfortable. But it's the only way out.

Have you ever noticed yourself stuck in the "Yes, But" cycle? Drop a πŸ™‹ below if this resonates.

That worry that feels so heavy before exercise? It rarely has the same power after you move your body.
Exercise isn't a magic cure... you won't fix all your symptoms after one run or one gym session.

But it is a powerful tool that builds cumulative benefits over time.

And here's what most people notice: you almost immediately feel a bit better after moving your body.
Whether it's running, lifting weights, an aerobics class, or playing a sport... movement shifts your state. It was one of the key tools I used in my own anxiety recovery.

You don't need to be perfect. You don't need to go hard every day. Just find what works for you and keep showing up for yourself.

What type of exercise helps you feel better when anxiety shows up?

Recovery doesn't happen all at once... and that's completely normal.

Think about learning any new skill. You can't just step onto a tennis court and hit perfect shots, even if you know the technique. Your body needs practice. Time. Repetition.

Anxiety recovery works the same way.

Even when you understand what to do, your nervous system needs time to learn, adjust, and build new patterns. It's a layered process... not a light switch.

You might be 80% there, having worked through multiple layers already. You're getting closer to peace. But expecting instant results only leads to frustration.

So be patient with yourself. Honor where you are. Recovery is happening... one layer at a time.

Which layer do you think you're on right now?

Anxiety is just energy.

It's not a mental illness. It's not something broken inside you. It's adrenaline moving through your system, creating uncomfortable sensations and racing thoughts.

Yes, it's unpleasant. But it's never serious. It can't actually hurt you.

The problem isn't the anxiety itself... it's how we respond to it. When we tense up, resist it, and try to make it stop, we keep the cycle going. We signal to our nervous system that there really is something to fear.

✨ But here's what recovery actually looks like:
β†’ The energy surges
β†’ You slow down (instead of speeding up)
β†’ You go loose and limp in your body
β†’ You offer no resistance
β†’ The energy passes through

This isn't about positive thinking or distraction. It's about learning to work with your body's natural processes instead of fighting them.

When you allow the energy without resistance, your nervous system gets the message: "We're safe. We can settle."

That's how recovery begins.

Have you ever noticed how anxiety gets worse when you resist it?

Stop pushing past your anxiety symptoms.

It's keeping you stuck.

When you first learn that anxiety isn't dangerous... that it's just adrenaline, just unpleasant sensations that can't actually hurt you... it's natural to think: "Okay, I'll just power through it."

So you grit your teeth. You try to ignore the racing heart, the intrusive thoughts, the wave of panic. You push past it and keep going.

But here's what really happens when you do that:
βœ— You build tension in your body
βœ— You create frustration in your mind
βœ— You stay in resistance mode
βœ— Your nervous system never gets the message that it's safe

Real recovery looks different.

Instead of pushing past the symptoms, you acknowledge them:
β†’ "It's just adrenaline"
β†’ "This is unpleasant, but not serious"
β†’ "I can let this energy burn itself out"

And then you allow it. You don't resist. You don't fight. You let the energy behind the symptom run its course naturally.

These little resets throughout your day... combined with longer resting practices... are what actually desensitize your nervous system over time.

You don't have to be perfect at it. You just have to catch yourself when you're in "grit your teeth" mode and choose to soften instead.

That's the path to recovery.

Have you noticed yourself pushing past anxiety instead of allowing it?

Everyone tells you anxiety is a mind problem.

But what if they're wrong?

Anxiety isn't happening in your thoughts... it's happening in your body. It's energy. It's adrenaline. It's your nervous system doing what it thinks it needs to do to keep you safe.

And that changes everything.

Because if anxiety is a body problem, then the solution isn't in your mind. You can't think your way out. You can't logic it away. You can't analyze or distract yourself into recovery.

πŸ’‘ The real solution is simpler than you think:

β†’ Notice the energy in your body
β†’ Slow down (move slow, be slow)
β†’ Go loose and limp... soften into it
β†’ Offer no resistance
β†’ Let the energy shift naturally

That's it. There's nothing else you need to do.

When you stop fighting the sensations and start allowing them, your nervous system realizes: "Oh, we're safe. We can settle now."

And that's when recovery begins.

You're not broken. You don't need to fix your thoughts. You just need to learn how to work with your body.

Have you ever tried approaching anxiety this way... as a body experience rather than a mind problem?

Shame and guilt are learned programs... habits your mind picked up from family, culture, and past experiences. And when you live in this survival mode long enough, it builds stress that tips you into chronic anxiety.

But once you see shame and guilt as just another symptom of anxiety, you can stop treating them like truth. You can stop letting them control your choices.

You're not broken. You're just stuck in a pattern... and patterns can be unlearned.

Have you ever noticed how guilt and shame show up in your anxiety?

When panic hits, when your thoughts start spiraling, your first instinct is to make it stop. To fight it. To control it.

But here's what actually works: slowing down and allowing the energy to move through you.
This isn't a relaxation technique... it's a recovery technique. When you stop resisting and start allowing, your nervous system can finally process what it needs to process.

✨ The practice is simple:

β†’ Remind yourself it's just energy
β†’ Slow down (don't try to stop it)
β†’ Go limp and loose in your body
β†’ Let it pass through

You're not broken. You're not doing it wrong. You just need to learn how to work with your body, not against it.

Have you ever noticed how anxiety feels worse when you fight it?

You know those terrifying thoughts that won't leave you alone?

"What if something's wrong with my heart?"

"What if I never make money again?"

"What if I never recover?"

Here's the truth: it's not the thought that's scaring you. It's the adrenaline.

When your nervous system is calm, those same thoughts come and go without a reaction. But when you're sensitized... when you're on high alert... every thought triggers a physical surge.

Dr. Claire Weekes knew this decades ago: the thought isn't the enemy. The fear of adrenaline is.
So what do you do?

✨ Go loose
✨ Let the thought be there
✨ Let the adrenaline surge
✨ Don't fight it, don't get involved... just let it pass

It's just a bit of adrenaline. And adrenaline is nothing to be afraid of.

Have you noticed how the same thought affects you differently depending on your state? Drop a comment below.

Are your mindfulness tools actually making your anxiety worse?

Here's the truth: breathing exercises, meditation, and grounding techniques are powerful... but most people use them the wrong way.

When you use these tools to try to GET RID OF anxiety, you're actually:
❌ Taking the anxiety too seriously
❌ Reinforcing the fear around it
❌ Suppressing instead of allowing

The right approach? Use these tools as anchors... something to focus on WHILE you allow the nervous system to settle naturally.

You're not pushing the anxiety away. You're giving your mind something to do while the adrenaline burns itself out.

It's not about new techniques. It's about a new mindset: allowing instead of fighting.

Have you been using mindfulness tools to fight your anxiety instead of support yourself through it?

Parenting an anxious child can feel overwhelming... especially when you're not sure what to say or how to help.

Here are 3 steps that can change everything:

1️⃣ Slow down - Breathe slow. Talk slow. Give them the time and space they need.
2️⃣ Acknowledge their feelings - Let them know their fear is real. Their distress is real. You see them.
1️⃣ Slow down - Breathe slowly. Talk slow. Give them the time and space they need.

You can't rush this process. But you can be there. And that makes all the difference.
Have you ever tried this approach with your child? What helped them feel safe?
