BalanceHealth&Vitality

BalanceHealth&Vitality ‘The body, movement and consciousness are intimately intertwined. Each influences the others. This is what inspires me. They get in the way of living.

How we embody our physical structure influences our movement and consciousness.’ Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen I am in awe of the resilient and ingenious ways that people find to survive suffering and overwhelming situations alongside the tenacity and beauty of the human spirit. I am somatic, trauma practitioner, bodyworker and educator in private practice. I offer in person and online sessions, classes and workshops. I support embodied reconciliation of shock, attachment, relational, developmental and complex trauma. Sessions are client-led and open-ended; holding what emerges. Together we create a safe environment for the nervous system to repair. Somatic techniques, tools and resources increase ability to feel and understand how the past affects life today. This releases bound trauma energy, revealing new possibilities. A moment of truth; where the client reconnects with their desire for life, ease and wellbeing. I am accredited in the following which have and continue to be part of my own journey of self-awareness and professional development: Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner, Trauma Stress Studies Foundation Graduate, Neuroaffective Touch® Foundation Graduate, NARM Practitioner-in-Training, Body-Mind-Centering® Somatic Movement Educator & Practitioner In Training, Soul Midwife, Transformational Coach ICF-ACTP, 5Rhythms Waves Teacher, Moving For Life Instructor-in-Training. I have attended trainings which qualify me as Polyvagal Informed, IFS Informed, Chinese Medicine Informed, SATYA Informed. SOMATIC TRAUMA THERAPY

‘ Trauma can be defined as any experience or repeated experience where the person feels terrified, powerless and overwhelmed, to the extent that it challenges their capacity to cope. It can leave an imprint on the person’s nervous system, emotions, body, behaviours, learning and relationships. ‘ de Thierry (2021).p15 ©

Unresolved trauma lives in the body. Every aspect of life is disrupted when intense energy, emotions and defence responses cannot be expressed, discharged and resolved. This creates many different symptoms and ways of coping which are unique for everyone and become part of their everyday life. These adaptive patterns become progressively more entrenched. They affect the nervous system, emotions, behaviour, relationships and wellbeing and can escalate into mental and physical health problems. Somatic trauma therapy supports embodied reconciliation of shock, attachment, relational, developmental and complex trauma. Somatic Trauma Therapy is offered by Lucy Howgego
