The National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides scientists in the lab the funding they need to make game-changing discoveries in cancer treatments, detection, prevention and ultimately, a cure. NFCR has distinguished itself in the cancer research sector by emphasizing long-term, transformative research often overlooked by other major funding sources. With the help of more than 5.3 million individual donors over the last 50 years, NFCR has provided $410 million in funding to public education and cancer research leading to some of the important, life-saving discoveries that benefit patients today.

What you eat can lower your cancer risk.

Research shows 30–40% of cancer diagnoses could be prevented with modest diet and lifestyle changes. Small choices like eating fewer processed foods and more fruits and vegetables can make a real difference.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is more than a common virus — it is a leading cause of several cancers, including cervical, head and neck, a**l, and oropharyngeal cancers. Nearly all cervical cancers and a growing number of head and neck cancers are linked to HPV. The good news is that HPV-related cancers are among the most preventable through vaccination, early screening, and continued research. At NFCR, we support scientists working to better understand cancer development and improve prevention and treatments that save lives.
