SEND IASS provides FREE, confidential, impartial advice and support on all matters SEND related across education, health and social care in North Northants.

North Northants Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice, and Support Service (SEND IASS) is a statutory provision operating at arm's length of North Northants Council. We provide free, confidential, and impartial advice, guidance, and support to children and young people (0-25 years) with SEND, as well as their parents and carers. At North Northants SEND IASS, we empower children and young people with SEND, along with their parents and carers, to understand their rights, fulfil their aspirations, and reach their potential. Our experienced team possesses extensive legal and localised knowledge across education, health, and social care. We provide a variety of flexible services, including training, advocacy, appeal tribunal support, referrals to statutory and voluntary agencies, access to local and national support groups, a telephone advice line available Monday to Friday, and in-person appointments. We are dedicated to strengthening our community identity and enhancing our collaborative relationships to meet needs and ensure the voices of our children, young people, and parents and carers are heard. This year’s theme, “This is My Place,” highlights the importance of helping every child feel a sense of belonging, whether that’s at school, at home, or within their wider community.

Feeling like you belong is vital for wellbeing. It helps children feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves. For many young people with SEND, finding or maintaining that sense of belonging can be even more challenging, so it is more important than ever that we listen, include, and champion their voices. 💛

IPSEA are offering a FREE online webinar on Tuesday 10th February, designed to help parents, carers and young people understand the process of appealing to the SEND Tribunal.

The session will cover:

🟠 What to expect from the local authority’s response
🟠 Making further submissions, including updates on the Tribunal’s new Practice Directions
🟠 Completing the case review form and information about witnesses
🟠 Using Working Documents

Children’s Mental Health Week – What’s On at Corby Library.

We’re pleased to be welcoming some fantastic support services to Corby Library during Children’s Mental Health Week, offering information and guidance for children and families.

Location: Corby Library
Monday 10 February
3:00pm – 5:00pm
The Children’s Wellbeing Team will be visiting to share advice, resources, and support focused on children’s emotional health and wellbeing.

Tuesday 11 February
2:30pm – 4:30pm
Service Six will be joining us to provide information about their service and how they support children and young people’s mental health.

These sessions are a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and find out what support is available locally. We’d love to see you at Corby Library.
