The daily recommendation for Vitamin D is 600 International Units for everyone up to 70 years old. People older than 70 need 800 International Units.

Did you know? Very few foods contain vitamin D. Some foods, such as milk, are fortified with vitamin D. However, it is found naturally in in fatty fish, cheese and egg yolks. To get enough vitamin D (especially in winter months), many people require a multivitamin/mineral with vitamin D or a vitamin D-3 supplement.

Consult your health-care provider and/or a registered dietitian to determine if you need a dietary supplement and how much you would need to take.
