I chose a deeper yes, let the nos fall where they may, and flew to a playful paradise..

Myself and 15 other fire fairies took to cartwheels in the morning, aerial flight by afternoon, and n**e stargazing by night.

It was here that, perhaps for the first time in my life, I really centered what’s often referred to as the “inner child.” For some, this concept may feel challenging, even a bit cringe, as it once did for me. Here’s a reflection that best encapsulates the real wisdom of that experience:

Pura Vida! Another gr**go chirps as I enter the land of howling monkeys and love magicians.

It’s my 33rd birthday, and I’m rolling around the sands of San Juanillo beach like a single savage hippy lady finding sea shells that make me absolutely giddy with the joy of abundance.

A thought quickly enters that I should keep this one particularly perfect shell forever, then I decide I must give it away. None of this is mine, Pachamama reminds me, and yet here it all is for me to enjoy.

Pachamama translates to Mother Earth. Many indigenous cultures view natural elements as having a spirit essence (ie who is that rock, instead of what is that rock) and as soon as I step into PachaMama Ecovillage I feel the live primal pulse of Mama Gaia.

Light-work ✨ Have you ever noticed how, when you’re crying and look toward a light source, the tears in your eyes make the light appear like it’s reaching toward you?

As a kid, I used to do this while sitting in “time-out” — heart aching, freshly tender from punishment, quietly yearning for love and acceptance in the midst of my mischief. I’d look up at the nearest light fixture through watery eyes and notice how, in my felt brokenness, the light also broke toward me, as if it were reaching back. I later learned in 6th grade science about refraction — how water bends light and appears to draw it closer. This soothed me.

I believe this is my purpose as a light-worker on Earth:
To refract and reflect.
To bend and bounce light.
To shine even in the most obscure spaces.
To love the shadowiest parts of myself and the world — no exceptions.

There is only love, and what’s asking to be loved. As my .breathwork teacher Dana says: “Love brings up everything unlike itself for the purpose of healing and release.” 💛🌕✨

Somatic Parts Work is a healing practice blending ancient wisdom, IFS, mindfulness, body awareness, and dialogue to unburden fragmented parts and restore embodied wholeness. This session deepens mind-body connection, focuses on felt sense and reveals powerful insights by guiding you back to the natural wisdom of the body.

Half curious, half frustrated, I turned to my dharma teacher and asked:
“Is story ever a good thing?”

It’s a question that’s settled into my tissues over time.

As a somatic practitioner, my work is all about dropping out of the mind and into sensation.
Out of the swirl, into the pulse.

And yet, even with all the swirly-twirlies the mind brings, when it’s connected to the body, truth, and presence, meaning-making can be medicine.
