Your nervous system & your subconscious mind don't really distinguish much between what's actually happening & what you're repeatedly imagining, watching, or focusing on.
If something feels real to you, your body responds as if it IS real.

That's not philosophy - that's neuroscience.

Whatever you consistently give your attention to shapes your nervous system, your stress chemistry & your beliefs about the world. Repetition builds neural pathways. What you practice - mentally & emotionally - becomes familiar to the body.

When the mind is continually exposed to fear, urgency, division, or threat, the nervous system adapts by staying on high alert. Stress hormones rise. Inflammation increases. The body prepares for danger - All. The. Time. Even if you're sitting on your couch, scrolling, in the comfort of your own space. I know this state well. Unfortunately.

Over time, this makes it harder to rest, heal, or feel grounded. Not because anything's wrong with you (no need to go there) but because your body's doing exactly what it was designed to do:
Respond to the signals it's receiving.

The work we do together is about changing the signals.

When we become more intentional ~ for real ~ about what we consume, what we repeat, & what we return to - we give the nervous system new information. Information that says: there is space, there is choice, there is safety here.

That's how regulation begins.
Not through force - but through awareness, consistency, & care.

The first New Moon of 2026💜

Observing the moon's phases and cycles is one of the simplest, and most tangible, ways to bring more spiritual depth into your life. And can also help you learn to respect, honour and work with your own cycles and rhythms. If that annoys you, you might want to strap in. Because right now the consciousness of humanity is shifting. Pretty dramatically. Spirituality, mysticism and the science of the sacred are majorly on the rise.

Today's New Moon is an invitation to turn your sights to the future. Because we're not going back. As nostalgic as some of us are for certain aspects, and events of the past - it's done. We're shifting into a whole new paradigm now. And you'll be able to see and feel that in the coming weeks.

Soooo...what is your intention?
This is a good time to get crystal clear about that. Because when the eclipses and retrogrades start rolling in in February, you're going to need an anchor. Starting this week it's a very good idea to start developing a strategy on how you're going to protect your peace. What's your strategy, for real, for when people around you (and the media and your whole news feed and the places you go) is all full of fear and negativity and trying to pull you in to it? This is an exceptional time to really get clear about how you're going to stay positive, or at the very least - faithful and trusting as you meander deeper into this extraordinarily pivotal year.

Or...not🤷🏼‍♀️

Well. Due to Winter being VERY Winter-y out there today - The Fonthill class has been CANCELLED. I'm bummed because it's such a cozy session for nights such as this.😔 But safety first, all ways.

No worries though - if you are registered in the whole 8 week session you've automatically been added to the make up class on March 5th!

I'm frequently misunderstood.
And lately, judged - mostly by people who assume my steadiness means I haven't suffered.

"Easy for you to say," they tell me.

Actually, no. None of this is easy for me to say.

Here's what they don't see:
A childhood shaped by back braces, long hospital stays away from friends & family, complex surgeries that came with real risk and real consequences. A body I couldnt trust that learned resilience long before it learned yoga. Nothing about this body, this journey - or this practice - has been "easy".

My relationship with and practice of yoga and meditation didn't come from comfort. It came from necessity. And a strong will to live and to heal, and to overcome.

Being calm does not mean I had it easy.
Being grounded does not mean I escaped pain.
And being disciplined does not mean I was spared struggle.

That is what I teach. And also why I teach.

So when I'm judged, dismissed, or subtly bullied - especially by people who don't know my history - I don't explain anymore.
My life experience speaks for itself.
