From our physiotherapist Jason:

This year marks the 20th year of my career in physiotherapy. Also marks my 16th year in the private practice seeing patients at home.

I started my career working with older people and has never regretted a single day… I have seen and physically assessed at least a thousand old people in my career ranging from those who can climb stairs, can still travel around in planes to those at the very end of their life, being bed bound and total dependent.

When I first stepped into private practice 16 years ago, it was during financial crisis, Subprime and Lehman brothers crisis period. My former late company director, who had always been supportive of me, wanted me to think twice about stepping out at that time.

But I was pretty sure I wanted to step out. Being young, I did not think too much of the consequences. I was pretty bold!

I was pretty lucky too! In no time, I was stable and I obtained my all my clientele through word of mouth ie. all my clients are referred to me from someone. Some of my clients said to me that there’s no way to find me if so and so did not link me up, and I always hear, ‘if only we knew you earlier’.

I am grateful to every single one of my clients whom I have crossed paths with, shaping me as a clinician and as a person. I learned a lot through their life experiences and their characters. I have helped to improve their quality of life or lessen their caregivers and family burden, in return, I learned to be a better person!

20 years is a long time, 1/2 of my life… I do not view what I am doing as a job, I don’t slog, I love what I do and has never a day of regret!

So, thank you for the great 20 years!

We are extremely grateful to the trust of family members of our patients!

Family members were grateful that our physiotherapist managed to help finding out the root cause to the recurring pneumonia and desaturation of oxygen! This prevented the patient from readmission to hospital. Previously this patient gets readmitted very 10 days or so for the past one year!
