We don’t chase quick fixes—we create lasting health. This is the difference between surviving and living with possibility—or, as we like to say, living optimally.

“to cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.” ― Edward Livingston Trudeau

I’ve worked in the medical field for more than 20 years. It has been both more challenging and more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. It’s the reviews, the text messages, and the phone calls from patients in tears, telling me they never thought they could feel this good again. It’s the joy of hearing that someone got their life back, started a new business, rekindled a relationship, or finally wrote that book they’d been talking about for years.

It’s my patients—and all of you—who push me to evolve, to keep listening, and to continue advocating for proactive health care. Your stories prove that the late nights and early mornings, the moments spent comforting and the moments spent challenging, truly make a difference. I don’t know if I can change the way medicine is practiced for everyone, but opening Halcyon allowed me to practice medicine as it should be: putting patients at the center rather than insurance—and inspiring others to do the same.

To everyone who has shared their story, thank you. You’ve made it possible for others to access the care they deserve. You’ve helped someone else get their life back. Medicine is my passion, and you are my purpose. We will continue to raise our voices and our expectations as we redefine health care. Thank you to everyone here—and welcome to those who are just joining the conversation.

T-levels peak in the late teens to early 20s and naturally decline by about 1% per year after age 30. But men today are experiencing low testosterone as early as their 20s due to things like chronic stress, poor sleep, processed diets, excess alcohol, and environmental toxins. Obesity and insulin resistance also suppress testosterone by increasing aromatase activity, which converts testosterone into estrogen.

Testosterone replacement therapy has been around since the late 1930s, but has more recently been perfected in the way it is administered and dosed. TRT is now molecularly identical to what your body produces and has smoother release curves, allowing for stable testosterone levels throughout the week.

You know that calm, drowsy feeling right before you fall asleep?
That’s your brain’s GABA pathways doing their job, and progesterone’s the one keeping them steady.

When progesterone dips during perimenopause or menopause, GABA slows down, and suddenly, sleep doesn’t come so easy.
Good sleep habits are important. Things like less caffeine, fewer screens, and consistent timing help, but they aren’t always enough to counteract low progesterone.

The answer is both.
Healthy sleep habits—and balanced progesterone.

Halcyon Health was created for anyone who’s been told their labs are “normal” despite not feeling like themselves, for the people who have been made to feel like they were crazy, and for the ones who demand more from their healthcare providers.

We created Halcyon to practice medicine the way it should be. That means:

* Time to listen — appointments that don’t feel rushed
* Space to connect — an environment where questions are welcomed and answered thoroughly
* Care that fits you — tailored hormone, wellness, and lifestyle support for where you are right now

We listen. We connect. We care.

Menopause and perimenopause symptoms have been incredibly misunderstood by physicians for years. Again and again, we hear stories like, “I went to the GP … she said you just have to get over it. She said you can’t take a tablet for everything.”
Or
“They seemed really willing to repeatedly prescribe loads of different forms of drugs, and yet unbelievably resistant to prescribing my own hormones back to me.”

After hearing these answers myself, I realized something had to change. I had to be the change I wanted to see.

Our name, Halcyon, is inspired by the Greek word alkyon—a mythical bird sent to calm the wind and waves. Halcyon means a serene state where the body and mind can reset. It’s when thriving becomes possible and energy feels new again. It’s the promise we make to our patients.

The most important step is to talk—really talk—about symptoms. These conversations reveal more than any blood panel ever could. Yet, this is where medicine falters. Too many physicians grow dismissive, trained by medical school to read numbers, not listen to the person in front of them. To remember they are individuals separate from numbers on a page.

Menopause is not just a storm of symptoms. It’s a turning point—one that disrupts daily life and leaves individuals more vulnerable to cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and weight gain.

Finally, the FDA has acknowledged the benefits of hormone therapy, admitting that the risks have been overstated. In July 2025, an expert panel moved to remove the black box warning on these treatments—an incredible step forward.

Half of the population will experience menopause at some point in their lives. So let’s talk about it—openly, honestly, and together.

Women aged 45-65 have the highest su***de rates compared to other female age groups.

A 2025 peer-reviewed article in Women’s Health (SAGE) gathered 42 women who experienced symptoms of perimenopause or menopause. The women reported various degrees of suicidality from fleeting thoughts of not wanting to live to detailed su***de plans, attempts, and self-harm. This is what happened when they tried to seek help.

29 women faced resistance from their general practitioner
14 women experienced delays in treatment
26 women did not realize their symptoms were menopause-related
24 women had to educate themselves about menopause to understand what was happening

Most of the women were misdiagnosed with depression or anxiety and given antidepressants, and for some, it worsened their suicidality.

“I went to the GP … she said you just have to get over it. She said you can’t take a tablet for everything.” – Participant 42.

‘I remember we went out into the waiting room. . . this lady who was about 85, was old and struggling. She [GP] just glared at me and said: ‘this is struggling’, referring to the old lady’ – Participant 7.

“They seemed really willing to repeatedly prescribe loads of different forms of drugs, and yet unbelievably resistant to prescribing my own hormones back to me.” – Participant 5

76% of the women reported that HRT was effective in alleviating their symptoms. Only 12% reported any benefit from antidepressants.

Your hormones set the rhythm for life. They dictate your mood. They fuel your energy. They drive your motivation to wake up in the morning. Balanced hormones lower the chance of chronic disease and raise the quality of life.
