You & I Mindfulness Mindfulness is a perfect antidote for fast-paced, stress-filled modern life. You & I Mindness offers free access to mindfulness resources. No experience needed.

Open to the public too. Dr. Jamie Derrick a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher (UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center, accredited training program). She also spent 100 hours studying MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction) with Jon Kabat Zinn and colleagues at the University of Massachusetts. She has taught mindfulness classes at University of Idaho and at UCLA to students and staff. She also offers classes in the Moscow community at the Nourish Yoga Studio. She has been offering community classes at the 1912 Center in Moscow this summer. She is a welcoming teacher.

As we draw our awareness in very close… to this one breath I am drawing in; this chirp of a chickadee outside my window; this soft cushion that holds me…. the still light of the moon…. When we come in that close … reside in simplicity…. and we can release. And we can replenish. We all need moments like this … and mindfulness helps. So please join me.

I will offer a very gentle mindfulness practice tomorrow --- Wednesday at noon-12:20. We will cultivate deep inner resilience by slowing. The kind of slowing where you can turn down the lights, rest your head on a pillow, and pull a soft blanket over your body. We will release tension from the body, breathe to release the worry and untangle our knots, and open up to some gentle emotional care.

I will offer a mindfulness meditation on Wednesday --- noon-12:20 Pacific. Our practice offers a map of sorts …. built of pauses and openings … a pause in our day to return to the pause in our breath. To allow space in the tightness of our minds. So we are strengthened to hold and meaningfully tend to the troubling moments in our lives... in our history.

Mindfulness meditation is happening tomorrow --- Wednesday, noon-12:20. We don't need to become the chaos all around us... but how? This practice will urge us into the equanimity that doesn't ignore the chaos, but steps around it -- so as to move ever closer to the calm center.

I will be offering a mindfulness practice tomorrow that will reach the places inside that are dry; and need a good watering. As we cultivate intentional noticing for the bits of wholesome goodness and beauty all around us... and we slow and savor these moments -- then we've landed on a wonderful practice. We stretch wide the experience of delight as medicine. This serves as a counter-weight to the chaos and the burdens. That will be the offering tomorrow. All are welcome.
